thank you guys :-)

right, lightwrap rocks ;-) we surely want to improve the overall look and style for the final film... maybe we go even further with the comic-style... if you are interested in how the production is going on you can also visit: http://www.wreckamovie.com/snowblind

XD so much obvious greenscreen. I mean no one could really tell except for anyone on this site. but. i hate a large amount of green screen. a few quick moments is fine but that amount makes it feel... off

I like the "green screen look". It's Sin City looking. I like the style and i think it looks profensional.

thank you bobbyk.

we used about 50% After Effects... that was my part... (the snow was done in particular, great tool!)...
combined with 50% Autodesk Flame ... that was my colleague Kalle.

You got good lighting and quality production down, don't ruin it by doing it on green screen. I would only green screen things i cant do in real life but other than that i would shoot on location. Your green screen is so obvious its hard to watch, I loved sin city but even for having a comic feel the green screen still looked real as if it where part of the shot... For example your BG is way to big or small on one scene (where some guy jumps) It looks like the town is small and he is a giant.

I suggest you shoot on location and try hard to make the movie work. you have the gear and AE knowledge apparently, you should shoot for realistic.

I think Snowblind's look is part of it's appeal, markets are opening up for this kind of stuff

I've never heard someone say mirrormask should have been shot all live action. Different styles work for different stories.

I think it's kinda silly to say film it all live. For one thing perhaps the all Green screen is a choice of look (one I like when it is done well like this) , but for another why not say use only real blank guns they are more realistic, or use real squibs, or rent a real helicopter so it doesn't look fake....

Anyway, If this comes out you will be selling a DVD? I would love to purchase one and support the movie.

hey guys,

thank you again for the kind words :-)

@ planetmirth -
dankeschön :-)

@ Fabian -
Right - you know him from GZSZ - he is Robert Lyons - a brilliant cast for this! http://www.robertlyons.de/

@ tony -
we realy choosed the full green screen for our story and the shooting is already finished... so we will use this instead of shooting all again ;-) and we did it realy on a low budget... this trailer was done in one week with only two guys... the look is still in development and of course we want to improve for the final film... maybe we go even more into comic novel direction. if we have a bigger budget one day we would be happy to use our skills on live sets and blow up everything like bruckheimer... and than combine it with vfx... but for this film it was not our goal and we will stick to our style of 2.5d-grindhouse-green-screen-western

@ Burritoclock -
yea, the film weill be on dvd an blueray... it will take a few month for the post... but as soon as it comes out you will find all details on our website... and i will post it here again.
in the meantime you can support the post production of the movie and buy a frame of it... how that works?!

I am not a fan of obvious greenscreens but this looks quite good. Especially the first bike scene, love it!

oh man, this looks awesome! I was laughing so hard at the titles "WINTER WAS NEVER THIS HOT". Really funny stuff! Very cohesive too, how did you do all the digital sets, I was trying to make a short film on greenscreen and found the set creation to be very difficult.

don't be insulted, but even a inexperienced viewer can see it's shot on green screen. If you are trying to cover that up in front of "normal" audience, it's not gonna pass, for sure. Anyway good luck!
