WOW! You guys keep putting out amazing tutorials and products! Thank you, and keep up the good work!

BTW Andrew, when are you guys going to make your own VideoCopilot film? It seems like you guys have more than enough talent to make a BA movie!
    October 24th, 2013 @ 11:25 am
I strongly agree with it...and Andrew should be the narrator,as everyone is familiar with his unique...voice
    October 24th, 2013 @ 3:56 pm
I agree with this as well. I actually check the site on a regular basis for the mini movies, as much as the tutorials. In fact, is there anyway on the tutorials you can separate the movie, and the tutorial on how you create the movie? That way I can watch all the movies all in order. Also the demon cam movie was one of my favorites. Have you ever consider doing a science fiction/fantasy short with that theme? I thought it was great.
October 23rd, 2013 @ 9:21 am
WOW!! NICE!!! cant wait to get JetStrike!!

You need more email newsletters when you do stuff like this. I could have been spending my day in Digital Flight School rather than working. Now I'm going to to have to ignore my wife later, again.

October 23rd, 2013 @ 10:58 am
Andrew these are awesome, answering SO MANY of the questions that I had about the new models. The one question that I still have is for the 'Jet Contrails' tutorial. In your example render, there is dirt on the camera lens. Is this done by using a lens flair with the dirt, or is it something else that I just keep missing? I notice that you like to use the dirty lens, even in your Star Trek and Fringe renders.

Hi andrew I have problem with my project
when I change from active Camera to custome view 1 the 3D object still on that place i mean doesn't change my view. look same at your tutorial..
October 23rd, 2013 @ 12:49 pm
Hi andrew,
I always admire your effort to make such great tutorials (great value) for free.
I have a suggestion. It might not be in corresponding with "videocopilot philosophy" but i ll give a shot.

I will be very excited if you could make a product where you share your knowledge about lightings, designing sounds, how project management goes when you work with Hollywood etc....
I am thinking about a "online school" (blink to your new site) where you could share valuable and more professional geared tutorials for aspiring film makers/fx designers/ sound. I will be willing to pay a monthly subscription for those tutorials if there is value. And i am sure you will have lot of customers.

Because to be honest, it is difficult to get in contact/touch with those who are already established in the industry. There is no "bridge" between.

And sir, i am asking to become that bridge.

Anyways, keep up the good work (even a thousand time after, it still feel good to hear that isn't?)

October 23rd, 2013 @ 2:17 pm

October 23rd, 2013 @ 2:17 pm
I'm curious Andrew what you think of the GPU setup on the new macpro's. I initially thought it was pretty $$$ but when I spec't out a similar machine from Maingear, it came to just over $4000...I don't understand the advantage of these workstation class GPUs when gaming cards seem to do everything faster and at a fraction of the price.

October 23rd, 2013 @ 6:23 pm
The tutorial for flight control is actually the decal customization tutorial.
    October 23rd, 2013 @ 7:45 pm
I think it's OK. They both cover some overlapping information but diff tutorials.
October 23rd, 2013 @ 6:38 pm
Ok I see the flight emblem with some nice shadows. Any chance we could get an approximate for E3D V.2?

October 23rd, 2013 @ 9:53 pm
Andrew thank you for the tutorials, this is what we were looking for
October 23rd, 2013 @ 9:59 pm
I would really love a series of tutorials on E3D as of 1.6 - has a series on the original 1.0 version but so much has changed since then. I would happily pay for something in-depth that takes you form the basics right through to complex scenes etc.
October 23rd, 2013 @ 10:16 pm

October 24th, 2013 @ 2:22 am
Is it possible to edit the Tail Livery colours and not just the body text? I would like to be able to completely change the colour of the aircraft livery if possible including the underside without messing with the rivets etc..

October 24th, 2013 @ 3:04 am
Hey Andrew,

Just wondering, will Element 3D now allow people to build their own custom jets from scratch & rig them to use in AAE?
    October 28th, 2013 @ 9:27 am
No. Element 3D isn't a modeling application, and the rigging is hardwired with code into the plugin.
October 24th, 2013 @ 3:59 am
Ok, I saw all tutorials in Flight School, so can I get my Pilot license already?

VCP changed my life!
October 24th, 2013 @ 10:03 am
Andrew, i am not sure if the flight school vids are hosted on youtube or not but it seems that mobile playing is disabled. I typically watch your stuff on my lunch break on my iphone and found that none of the flight school video's will play. Luckily I found the missle launch one on youtube on your channel so I had one to watch anyhow !

Thanks for the dedicated tutorials too. Already picked up some tips. Much appreciated.
October 24th, 2013 @ 11:27 am
Thank you Andrew for the Flight School Tutorials! Awesome stuff!

Can you make a tutorial on how you do the engine/afterburner glow? I'm having a hard time recreating that effect using the "glow" in After Effects. Your examples look far better than my attempts.
October 24th, 2013 @ 11:51 am

October 24th, 2013 @ 4:24 pm;=youtube_gdata_player

ready for takeoff .. not completly but looks better than before :p
October 24th, 2013 @ 9:22 pm
Awesome Job! Is there a tutorial on how to import 3d models and create rigs in element 3d like the rigs put out for the landing gear?
October 25th, 2013 @ 8:02 am
If you add a ground crash and or an air crash tutorial to the flight school lessons I will 100% commit to buying this plug in. The tutorials you have up now are amazing, but it's the spectacular crash with explosion and flying fragments that I want to see. Something ground level using real camera footage as a back plate where a jet smashes into the ground in front of the camera. Maybe it comes in tilted smoking, and with flaming engines and the wing shears off against the ground for a second before the rest of the body impacts. We could cover how to get the dirt/ground debris as well as the flying jet fragments, then of course the explosion and camera shake. Make that tutorial and I will buy this twin pack for $199 because that's the kind of thing I want to know how to do, simulate crashes.
    October 25th, 2013 @ 8:24 am
Oh just buy the damn thing, and be done with it, everyone is doing it...
Jim Hines
October 25th, 2013 @ 8:30 am

would you please speaking more for lighting ?
October 25th, 2013 @ 10:30 am
Check this cool Teaser created using JetStrike

Big Thanks to VC for creating this amazing pack :)
October 25th, 2013 @ 12:25 pm
This pack is AWESOME!! Could you do a tutorial about prepping your own aircraft models for use in Element? like how to set animatable parameters for stuff like hatch doors ect. Keep up the GREAT work and I'm super stoked about everything Video Co-Pilot has been evolving into. Thank you!

October 25th, 2013 @ 12:51 pm

October 25th, 2013 @ 2:47 pm
andrew should do a product showing how to create a robot like the movie transformers (bumblebee or optimus prime)
October 25th, 2013 @ 11:25 pm
Mr. Andrew, I think it will be awesome n sell this product more if the pilot can be rigged 2 bank his head (left n right) and give a "thumbs up" for extreme close-up shots and dialogue. And to set this product(JetStrike) ablaze, a rig control in Element ejecting the pilot. It will be awesome!!! Just an idea. What do u guys think?
October 26th, 2013 @ 12:26 am
Wow !! That's an incredibly extended tutorial! Thank you!
October 25th, 2013 @ 11:38 pm

October 26th, 2013 @ 4:05 am
Hey Andrew and Team got some serious problem. Using a GTX 650Ti Boost graphics card. GPUSNiffer.exe in After effects cs6 is detecting a wrong version of OpenGl for the card and not allowing me to GPURENDER the files. Any solution? my version is OpenGl 4.2 but its showing 2.1.2
October 26th, 2013 @ 8:18 am
This is not only top notch customer support, but it is FUN, and even better, FUNNY! What I really respect is the way VC Team are pushing the limits, and saying, ok, we've made this, what can we REALLY make it do?

Hmm could this be a sign of a... Unicorns Model Pack ? Haha.
Seriously, thanks for the tutorials. I had no interest about the animation side, but i kept watching and saw how you used a parallel light and an ambient light. So glad to learned this. Closest to ibl, without any performance hit.

October 26th, 2013 @ 1:14 pm
Hey Andrew, have you seen this?

The RedGiant used your Jet Strike and Action Essentials pack to create their latest short film! How cool!
October 26th, 2013 @ 1:31 pm
Guys, considering the composition! Some elements are taken from "Pro Scores"
October 26th, 2013 @ 7:14 pm
maldita sea!!!, hasta donde llega tu inteligencia, cada día me sorprendo mas!!!!!!!!!. yo creo que has llegado muy lejos que cualquier otro.
October 26th, 2013 @ 7:29 pm
I remember "Back in the day" we used to cut out a picture of a jet then put it in a scene and use Action Essentials to blow it up,
Now, JetStrike, FumeFX, everything's 3D and CG.
It's better looking actually. But I miss the "Old days".
October 27th, 2013 @ 1:15 am
can you make an exploding aircraft tuts as seen in the teaser promo...
October 27th, 2013 @ 1:17 am
AK & the awesome VCP team: I looked at the "environment tutorial" and how to use the sky as a 360 sphere. Now we are using a 2d picture and turn it into 3d, but it´s hard for the BG to catch up with the jet, when it´s turning. In one tutorial you linked two pictures, but is the "environment tutorial" a way to go? I haven´t tried it out yet, I just browsed the element-tuts yesterday. Anyway rock on everybody!

you know what andrew its awesome no question about it but if you tell us a way to customze the parts of the jets like the wings taken of some other jet and put on into some other it would be really cool!!!....but you may also think that i'm out of my mind....sure i am...

October 28th, 2013 @ 8:31 am
Will there be information on how to import a rigged model into E3D that uses E3D's rig controls or is this feature intended for VC model packs exclusively?
October 28th, 2013 @ 11:52 am
Can anyone help with the color correction he used in the "Jet contrails" tutorial??? Thanks!
    October 31st, 2013 @ 10:05 am
Jake you have to make some adjustment layers and also using color correction but I suggest putting particular cloud on top of contrails,so it will look more mysterious as andrew use to say...and make the wings smoke white and after burn by duplicating particular and make top one red and apply glow effect on top one and feather a little and adjustement of curve in particular size over life sharp at beginning and lower the height of curve and end one a little sharp will make perfect after burn.

October 28th, 2013 @ 7:24 pm
I was wondering in the Flight Control tutorial you mention the reflect sky.jpg, where do I find that? I seem to be missing that file.
    November 1st, 2013 @ 8:25 pm
Yes, I'd like to know where it is too? Thanks.
    November 4th, 2013 @ 5:34 am
I was wondering the same thing. I can't get the plane to look like his and I think it's because I don't have that file.

November 5th, 2013 @ 7:01 pm
Hey Andrew, could you help me out with maybe a screenshot of your color correction for the "Jet Contrails" tutorial?
That bluish-green tint that you put over the footage!
November 5th, 2013 @ 8:33 pm
I've been dying to know the origins of that circular gauge thing used right behind the JetStrike logo. Anyone else wonder also? Andrew, did you or your peeps take the time to make it from scratch? Or is it a texture that can be found somewhere? I need tons of things like this for a project I'm working on! Please help!

Very good package indeed, and very good tut's. Hopefully this will evolve with the addition of more civilian models - including helicopters ( also some europeans)
November 8th, 2013 @ 3:58 pm
I have a problem with all of this stuff, and its that it looks too fake.
    November 12th, 2013 @ 5:58 pm
This is actually very high quality for the price. Just look around on TurboSquid for 5 minutes and you'll see what I mean.

My version using Jetstrike.. It was awesome working with these models. The lighting is what brings life in to this scene.Amazing model pack
November 12th, 2013 @ 7:37 am
First thank you for the tutorials.
I noticed that in the comp the background is moving fast and seem very wide. I tried many times to reach a similar effect but failed. When I move the point of interest of a 35mm camera, the background will soon fly out.
Is there any tips to make a huge 3D world with only one simple background?

How can I get the reflect_Sky.jpg that is shown in the tutorial #144 Flight Control? I looked around the website, but it's nowhere to be found. I had to stop watching the tutorial at this point. I'm disappointed because I bought the Jet Strike pack for $$ and I can't finish the tutorial.

Hello VC team

Just a quick question; while using the camera tracker tool for a aerial pass over shot, i attempted to composite an air craft into the shot "staying just in font of the camera keeping the same speed as the shot" i found the model jitters every few seconds, just wondering why that was?

Any chance that there will be a version of Element that allows you to define "rigging" for the individual elements of a model that is not part of your packs? I have several projects that involve too many moving parts (more than the 5 groups) and linking two instances of E3D is possible, but time consuming...
Anyhow - fantastic work, as always...
