Nice to hear you back...Any progress on next version of 3D element?
May 9th, 2013 @ 12:47 am
Very cool :) AE has some fun stuff but isn't always excelling in realistic lighting effects with 3D. This with some good E3D or Cineware text behind it would be very fun to play with.
    May 9th, 2013 @ 2:02 pm
Pretty good stuff. I'm sure this'll be a great tutorial as usual.
VideoCopilot has helped me out so much. Check out my compositing/motion graphics reel i was able to create: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQQH1hQYCoE
May 9th, 2013 @ 12:48 am
Nice work Andrew. Great to see the old style tutorials back again.
    May 9th, 2013 @ 3:36 am
OH YEAH! You just spoke my mind ;)
Anyone else anticipating for the "old-style" tutorials?
    Win Win Win!

Wild Speculation: The new plugin is related to the last second or so with the TV static looking effect.
May 9th, 2013 @ 12:50 am
Looks great! Really excited to hear how you made it, and really glad that something new is coming.

I'm betting the plug-in will be about simulating the old VHS look? Kind of like Twitch, but for another style? If so, this might be interesting, although I'd be expecting something very low-cost. This could almost be a preset, but let's see how far VC pushes it.
    May 9th, 2013 @ 12:54 am
Let's just say that the VHS look is less than 1/10 of what the plug-in is capable of...
    May 9th, 2013 @ 1:30 am
Can I plea-bargain an ask that the old-skool VHS look is less than 1/5 of what the plug-in is capable of? :)

Love the look of that ice/glass effect Andrew. It's got an instant feel of mystery and suspense. Quality work.

    May 9th, 2013 @ 1:31 am
Can I plea-bargain and ask that the old-skool VHS look is less than 1/20 of what the plug-in is capable of? :)

Love the look of that ice/glass effect Andrew. It's got an instant feel of mystery and suspense. Quality work...as always.

Ah, awesome - was using some of the Rowbyte/EFX ones for the CCTV footage in this short I did the fx for.

    But VCP always delivers.

Thanks for all the tutorials and plugins, a few years ago I didn't know anything about AE, and VCP really helped open my eyes as to how much was possible.

    Cheers Andrew,

    May 9th, 2013 @ 1:50 am
There is a Trapcode plug-in that can do that. I'm pretty sure that this one is going to be heck of a lot better! :)

    May 9th, 2013 @ 4:43 am
I wonder if the audio has anything to do with it?

Maybe an automatic generation of sound effects from what's happening on screen?
May 9th, 2013 @ 12:53 am
Looking forward!
Greetings from Brazil.
May 9th, 2013 @ 12:54 am
Looking forward to the tutorial! :D

May 9th, 2013 @ 1:23 am
Andrew, who does this lovely sound design? Is that really all from Designer SFX? If so would you mind me asking what software you do the final sound in? Cant get enough of it.
May 9th, 2013 @ 1:24 am
Why don't you guys create some page inside this website that will include some videos that How professional used optical flares, element or action essentials in their TV ad or title sequence. Like

And the one you posted before (Loreal Paris perfume ad)

I'm sure it will initiate the community
    May 10th, 2013 @ 11:34 pm
Cleverly thought. I think this is a great idea. Positive Rivalry.
May 9th, 2013 @ 1:31 am

any love for us (as an upgrade to the new plugin) if we buy twitch now?

Pretty please?
May 9th, 2013 @ 2:44 am
It looks amazing! Does it requires Element 3D?
lunga shezi
May 9th, 2013 @ 2:58 am
All we need now is Sam Loya in cryo state underneath the ice! :-)
    May 12th, 2013 @ 7:51 am
Or Tino because of WHERE. IS. TINO.
May 9th, 2013 @ 3:04 am
I got it Twitching, I got the Lens Flares ... now If I get this plugin I'll be IMBA! Totally my style! Can't wait :D VC FTW!
May 9th, 2013 @ 3:18 am
I really hope this new plugin is going to simulate camera, -lenses and -capture medium characteristics like diffusion (glow), chromatic aberration, lens distorsion, color channel interference and vhs degradation, possibly even introduce fake compression artifacts and digital noise. Now THAT would be sweet and actually pretty useful to have in just one plugin. Keep up the great work!
    May 9th, 2013 @ 3:36 am
Actually now that I think about it wouldn't it be cool to structure such a plugin similarly to say Magic Bullet Looks i.e seperate it into three parts that represent a physical setup where the first contains all of the settings for the camera (rolling shutter/global shutter simulation, exposure, white balance) the second part contains lens settings (edge distorsion/vignetting, edge sharpness, chromatic aberration, grime, diffusion/glow) and the third simulates different capture mediums (compression artifacts, noise, film grain, brightness and color channel interference, live stream artifacts, flicker etc pp)
Not only would this be incredibly useful for quickly and realistically compositing vfx elements, I'm sure that some of the simulations could greatly enhance motion graphics by introducing some texture and grit.
May 9th, 2013 @ 3:27 am
Will element 3d support water simulation in the future?
    May 9th, 2013 @ 8:35 pm
Being as most 3D programs don't natively support that without external plugins, I highly, highly doubt that. Not to question the brilliance of the VCP team, but that's a pretty unrealistic request. The processing power needed is huge, not to mention the complex algorithms required, and that's just not what Element is made for.
May 9th, 2013 @ 3:33 am
Looks cool for me ! a twitch V03 ! ahah Also Andrew can you make a new product with sound design like this like really good sound , atmosphere , because your last product begin to old and everyone ear this everywhere !

“The Pure Energy”
A short demo created in Adobe After Effects CS6 using VC Element 3D .. Cheers

May 9th, 2013 @ 6:16 am
I think, after ELEMENT 3D we all raised the bar too high, and were expecting something "bigger". Well I was hoping for that CAMERA SIMULATION or something like that...but lets see whats coming.
May 9th, 2013 @ 6:29 am
can we animate the camera INTO the glass? like the camera passes from the outer part of the glassy object to the inside? sorry for the bad english :P
    May 14th, 2013 @ 3:28 am

May 9th, 2013 @ 12:19 pm
Hi Andrew. I live in Spain, I write in English through Google translator because I have the need to tell you three things: (1) I am pleasantly surprised by the work you do through VideoCopilot. I am a great admirer of your tutorials and appreciate it when you give us editable files. (2) I wanted to know your opinion on how it will affect the development of 3D Element that will integrate the new After Effects with Cinema 4D. (3) I wish you were still producing more 3D modeling packs.
Thank you very much. A hug. Manu.

May 9th, 2013 @ 12:26 pm

May 9th, 2013 @ 12:59 pm
Finally a Motion Graphics tutorial again! Please Andrew more of this please! And if you have time, could you try an advanced kinetic typography tutorial. The ones that are out there are so basic.
May 9th, 2013 @ 12:26 pm
Isthere a possibility that you design the plugin als for premire pro?
    May 9th, 2013 @ 1:53 pm
You can just use dynamic link to bring your footage from Premiere directly into After Effects.
    May 10th, 2013 @ 12:08 am
Yes, i know, but tweaking looks of footage in premiere pro only (like looks from red giant does) works more quick than having to link a composition from ae. It is also more quick that you can copy and paste effects nd remove effects from clips in premiere without having to go to ae.
    Just a wish...
May 9th, 2013 @ 2:55 pm
I like this better then Google Glass already!
May 9th, 2013 @ 3:32 pm
Wow! Just wow… You guys rock!
May 9th, 2013 @ 5:08 pm
I guess that the plugin is going to be for camera simulation, which is awesome, lets wait for the tutorial and see what is the next plugin, can't wait for it

May 9th, 2013 @ 6:18 pm
Dude.......you're making my head explode. Do you ever sleep? After Effects genius pours out of your head like water.....or the brains of Sam Loya when you ran him over with that cool SUV. I can't wait to see this tutorial!
shaswata indra
May 9th, 2013 @ 6:21 pm
It would be great if there is an inbuilt camera option in element 3d apart from the default camera options in after effects. The element 3d plug in is just brilliant with additional lighting effects and fog effects, will be greater if it has an inbuilt camera options too. Any Possibility?
May 9th, 2013 @ 8:46 pm
I'm excited! Also can wait for the model packs. But please do a tutorial on the Fighter jet you had fly and the moving blurred Background :D

Really Cool Looking! Andrew Does You Output Always Reached Your Imagination?
May 9th, 2013 @ 11:19 pm
Andrew it is long time since you kill or injure Sam Loya. I think is time to freeze him with your new plugin in Cyro state for future experiments :)
Tutorial maybe incorporating element 3d, cyro station , green screen and camera going through glass to show Sam inside ?
    May 10th, 2013 @ 12:09 am
    I like that idea!
    Good script LJ!
May 9th, 2013 @ 11:32 pm
This looks pretty awesome...any chance there may be an Action Essentials 3 in the near future? All I can picture is 3D explosions able to be used within Element 3D :P

I wouldn't be supprised if the lens dirt pictures from the scope tutorial where also a part of this new plugin...
Who thinks I could be right?
May 10th, 2013 @ 3:23 am
Epic, This effect is amazing but looks more like ice than glass... maybe we can use it to show the effect of something trapped in ice, something strange, something evil..... :D
May 10th, 2013 @ 5:32 am
No chromatic aberration ??

May 10th, 2013 @ 8:24 am
remember a thing called 'quick matte' that was supposed to be popping up, anyone know what it did?
May 10th, 2013 @ 12:14 pm
I think it would be a great idea (but obviously as the conceiver I am biased) to maybe do some tutorials where when you release the preview, you also release any source footage too and challeng the community to see if they can re-create it before you release the tutorial. Should be particularly fun with tuts that require no additional plugins. Maybe I should just start a forum thread? What do you think?
May 11th, 2013 @ 3:40 am
Andrew Kramer, You have NO idea about how the idea works because this "Idea" is full of ideas. Ideas can be used to create an idea but you got some nice ideas but use the best ones.
May 11th, 2013 @ 5:12 am
WOW!thanks Andrew! i love you man!
hey... do you Know any thing about Stoke MX plug-in for 3D max? You can start new projects with this plug-in! For example, simulate of one of the action sequence's of Harry Potter film's. Of course it's just my view!
May 11th, 2013 @ 9:01 am
May 11th, 2013 @ 12:40 pm
I own element 3d, but it's great to see new tutorials that are not centered around that plugin.

May 18th, 2013 @ 7:46 am
For over a year I have been trying to get someone to be able to teach me how to do this! Message boards, forums, tut makers... I have had a story for Batgirl encased in ice and we never made the story because I could never figure it out or find someone to teach us...This is 100% exactly what I need.
I have many of your plugins and element3d as well, I will buy any plugin needed to get this done. Please do this soon...Please please please please....
I really have been waiting for this for a very long time.

Thank you so much.
Bob Walmsley
May 18th, 2013 @ 1:11 pm
Hi Andrew
I've been looking at some of your older tutorials and have just stumbled across your one for Sure Target 2. I realise this is quite an old plugin now, but it still looks like a really useful tool for quick camera animations. However, I haven't seen you use this for any of the last few years' tutorials. Is there a reason why? I was thinking it may be especially useful if you have a project using multiple Element 3D layers.
May 18th, 2013 @ 1:12 pm
Can't wait for this to come out.
Anytime soon! ;)
