3D MODELS

Pretty awesome.
I hope to try out this plugin soon.
If i had the money to buy it..
BTW…Andrew just Rocks..but more rocking is this Plugin…WOW..!!!
Cool. I wish you would make a tutorial on how you did this. I like the way you made this earth as opposed to the 3D earth. Thanks
That looks MEGA! I’d love to know how you get the light “halo” around one side of the earth
Watch ( the ring ) tutorial here
its a matter of elliptical masks inside elliptical masks
awesome as always ,needs more lens flares (or not)
also, i can see my house from here!
E3D blows my mind well done sir.
okay that’s cool looking like Lockout movie scene thumps up
I just watched 2001 Space Oddyssey and that movie costed millions to make in 1968 and this is so amazing and and at our fingertips to make ourselves for $150 ! Time sure flies when you’re having fun..looking forward to the project file! Thank you!
This looks fantastic! I have a question will my Macbook Pro run element?
Here are the specs…
2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor
4GB of 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 3750M graphics processor
looking at your specs (assuming that the 3750M is a typo and its 6750M) it looks like the same as mine (I have 8GB ram) and it runs absolutely fine. My MBP is my day to day workhorse and I’ve had AE rendering in background and been editing in Final Cut quite happily.
Thanks Marc. (Your right, it was a typo). I am looking forward to getting this awesome plug-in!
It’s totally worth it to upgrade the RAM to 16GB, especially if you are using AE.
This best get a tutorial!
Any luck fining a solution to this render problem Andrew.? I’m going mad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGfVIr4AhXQ
Turn off multiprocessing in AE! or get the update.
Hi Richard,
looks like the same problem I had on my Mac.
In AE goto
-prefferences
-RAM & Multiprocessing
- uncheck “render multiple frames at a time”
Let me know if it works.
best
jan
Insane Clip! cant wait to buy Element 3D
Will the Project file include the Satellite and that Space Station ?
Sorry, just the earth… those are not my models to give away! But I will show people how I set it up.
I hope there’ll be a Model Pack for such things in the future
Space Models !
I hope you’ll show in detail how did you create/set in AE the Space Station.
guys, go to http://archive3d.net and you’ll find a wide range of free 3d models. Just download and convert in blender if required.
Oh well, at least the Earth model is awesome. Looking forward to that object!
you’re ready for the next “universal” title!
(in fact when i saw it, i thought; “Hey, could be done via element3D”)
When will be this tutorial up
Damn! Real nice! It’s simply Hollywood quality dude!
OK! This is awesome!!! Question: If I buy your plugin will I get the dvd’s? Because it only say’s instant download?
This product is only available by download but we included some box art that you can print to make a back up.
I love the backfaces of your art cover;
you could at least make something else than black
Whats more to the point Andrew, what are/were you doing up at 4am? baby keeping you awake?? baby boy…not Element 3D…lol
Oh and what kind of models do I get if I only buy the element 3D and Pro shaders???
Damn, I recently built an earth myself using Element
Yeah, i did it with CC Sphere year ago:))) Cheaper option:)
Wow very cool stuff, Andrew!
And awesome that you’re presenting at Siggraph. Too bad I couldn’t make it there this year, it would have been awesome to be able to meet you in person. Well, hopefully there will be next year?
Andrew What do we do?
I am from Iran. I want to by your product (element ) But as you know my country is under sanctions, so how can I do that?
You can create a PayPal account after you must charge it with some money , Now you can buy Element 3D from VideoCopilot , without any problem .
Should I use my Visa card
Sanctions that are not
Yes of course , also if you have Visa card you could use your Visa card to buy Element 3D !
WOW !!!!! ANDREW IS AWESOME !!!! TUTORIAL SOON? :=) :=)
Bye
What tutorial????? You need tutorial to make sphere with map and light and 3d model????? Andrew is showing you things like that almost everyday. Past that few tutorials you still don’t kno how to do that?????????????? God….
Andrew, you should have made a Mars Curiosity landing with an Alien appearing. LOL
Was CC Sphere Effect used to create the Earth?
And Where would someone get Photos like the moon Photo in the Optical Flares Plug-in, And the Earth in this example ?
too many random sounds…
I never saw a video in space with that kind of sounds…
not even transformers.
not to be bad but the picture is amazing, not the sounds though.
Sweet, Andrew! Have fun at Sig – wish I could go.
I just watched this on youtube and thought to myself ewhat a wonderful example of how to use element 3D from the master. Unfortunately its also an example of how childish youtube users have gotten. The dislike button, should be renamed the “down right disrespectful button” :0(
Christian, you are correct on that dislike button. I’ve seen videos and for the life of me can’t figure out how someone could dislike the video. I know when I watch videos, whether I like or not, it’s just really impolite to hit dislike, particularly when it is test shots and just great stuff for people to check out. You Tube should get rid of the the like and dislike. It really serves no value.
Well as a youtube partner I must say the like/dislike buttons are a love hate affair, for the most part I like it since it gives me feedback (not in the form of troll comments) about my videos, although 1 of my early test vids became my most hated video with over 70 dislikes lol.
A youtube partner? I love youtube, just hate those buttons. Heck, I posted an early shot using Element with a bullet coming out of gun, flash, freeze frame and got a couple dislikes and I was like dude, it’s just a test. I’m sure they are immature kids. If you care to check it out it is kirkeric on youtube (there are two versions, one says Bullet Freeze Fixed). Eric
really ausam …….i am counting my money now adays to buy this plgin…IS there is any concessions for STUDENT..PLZ
wow amazing gift….
Im a experienced 3D artist and I bought the plugin. It’s just awesome, the flexibility and performance are the hightes point!!! A sugestion for another upgrade is a kind of “box (or sphere)effector” like in Cinema4D mograph, will be very handy
I have just a question, I have two pcs here in my room and I want to know if I can install this plugin in both pcs or I have to uninstall it before re-install into another one. How does it works the Unregister the plugin from a pc? sorry about my english!! Cya and Congratzz!!
As far as i can tell you can use it on multiple computers, as long as you don’t run out of download tickets. You should contact support.
Andrew , dead planet and rock models is a new model ? and we must buy it ?
Farshad, they are in the starter pack folder
Thanks Christian !
Hi Andrew,
this is amazing! I think Element 3D will get my productions a lot faster done in case of styleframes and a look developement.
Is this the model you used:
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/solar-atmosphere-cloud-max/628325
Thanks in advice,
Moritz
Looks awesome, can’t wait for the tutorial! You can’t beat the opening shot of “Contact”, though, the one where they pull back further and further and you hear all those radio waves that earth is broadcasting out into space…
I can’t believe!!
Element 3d it’s amazing!!
That looks super fantastic! I would I could come say hi
Element is unbelievable.
can you tell me where are the box art prints so i can make my own dvd backups. cant find them in the download files.
Man, I wish had the money to get Element. $15 a week doesn’t go far enough, especially when I need other things also.
P.s Is there an upgrade path from Element with Pro Shaders and Abstract Models to the full kit?
I am very exited to see the tut
Very Awesome VFX love it!!
Question, This uses OpenGL. I have both a GTX460 and a GT240. If I leave the 240 in my box, will Elements use its cores as well?
Cool,
Element 3d is amazing.
Check out this on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0GKQ_hMJck&feature=g-upl
and tell me if its good
Gabe , it’s good but , in my opinion it have 3 problem :
1 – Does not have good motion
2 – Frame rate is low
3 – “Gex Production” does not have real Bevel
You could totally re CG the Battle scene in Star Wars “Deathstar Trench”.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v5VahaEL7s
And I’m sure those 3D models are already on the net!
I’m just going to keep posting this request until I get some kind of response.
Mr. Kramer, I have a request: if you post a video, could you make it available on VideoCopilot’s site as well instead of on Vimeo or YouTube exclusively? For many of us users, these other sites are blocked on our workplace internet, where we access your site much of the time. This is the third one in the last couple of weeks, and I’m having to miss out on a lot of great tutorials!
Just a humble request/suggestion from a raving loyal fan who would love to see everything you post!
Andrew and VCTeam,
amazing…
In such a short time you are pushing one sophisticated movie and tutorial after another.
The render results I see in your examples look in many ways more high ended, when in some of the many example of similar scenes in the internet done by expensive high end 3D software and their renderers.
Very inspiring.
In the next time I gonna continue some example of what I discovered with your nice software.
All the best
Serge
Yeah, okay. That was pretty cool!
I am completely blown away with this plug-in… blown away.
looking really forward to hearing you at SIGGRAPH. Maxon really lucked out with E3D complimenting C4D so well. Hoping for a live demo! See you wednesday.
Very coolio! One of the first things I tried with this plugin was doing a high res earth model. What I came up with at the end of the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvD8Hz1gBv0
Wow, that’s looks incredible…
And thanks for the SIGGRAPH code, I’ll see you at the Maxon booth!!!
also…SIGGRAPH: Nvidia booth on wednesday is all about OpenGL, all day. After i listen to AK at the Maxon booth, get my free sticker at the Autodesk booth im gonna listen in at the Nvidia booth. Are you all day there Andrew?
Hhhhhh, woow wow wow so cool Andrew, thx
taking over. the earth.
But but but…there is no sound …’In Space’. HOWEVER!!! if there was, Mr. Kramer… you have captured it perfectly because as always you’ve given it some thought then thought about it some more and probably even asked around before making the claim. Whereas myself, i just hit ‘Submit a Comment’ and type type type…click ‘Enter’ then think “Doh!”.
Thank you for the inspiration and taking the time to teach.
jp
Awesome! Andrew, you continue to amaze me with your innovation and creativity!
Andrew, when will we get an update for the Matte painting challenge?
Still trying to figure out how to rotate Element text along a circle a la the Universal logo.
Anyone have any tricks to achieve this?
Lamar,
After you extrude your text on group 1 you can change the replicator shape under Particle Replicator within Group 1 to Ring. Then you can animate the Y Rotation also under the Particle Replicator. You can make the Scale Shape a larger number to obtain a bigger circle to navigate. One problem I haven’t figured out is that the letters don’t bend along the circular path. I don’t know if that is doable within Element.
I created a quick simple video to demonstrate how the text doesn’t curve around the planet. I used the dead planet model that comes with the starter pack.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT9nWVpLy8I&feature;=youtu.be
Buy this one and find out:o) No plugins! http://www.revostock.com/After-Effects-Project/338468/Retro-Earth-Logo-Type.htm
Thanks Dman but the individual character rotation is the key ingredient that I’m finding impossible.
The closest I have come was to first align text along and elliptical path and then assign that text layer to a custom text in Element. Unfortunately Element only sees it as 2d so your semi circular text on the z axis become semi circular on the X.
where can you get those models from? any suggestions for model sites? very cool. I have been looking for models like that kind of detail for quite some time, but most of them out there just look to fake to use. great job sir!!!
Wow this one’s impressive…it’s almost movie production quality!
God almighty.. if anyone showed us this 2 years back and told us it was made all in AE we’d laugh.
That earth looks oddly similar to the one i just saw in the new TV series REVOLUTION! lol
Will there be a tutorial on this? thx
My school took some students to siggraph but only 3d animation students could go, Visual Effects students at my school get no love. I would have loved to actually meet Andrew, he’s the reason i chose Visual Effects and motion graphics as my major. Loving element by the way it has made my 3d workflow so much quicker!!
Andrew where do you get your unwrapped models from? free or with a price tag. Let me know.. thanks!
I see the (bad) influence of “lockout” !
Not enough flares to dirty, corrupt, pollute…(pick one) the image…
Where do I get the station and sat? Are they for sale somewhere????
For the love of… I’ve been working the last couple of days on a elaborate AE earth-shot for work, and I thought I was getting there, until I watched this… Oh well, I guess it’s about time for coffee and a crash cause in Element…
2001: A VC Odyssey LOL!!!! Space will never be the same.
For SF scenes like these rj001 sells by far the best and cheapest SF models (on Renderosity) although I must admit I haven’t tried them in E3D yet. They’re in 3DS format so you’ll need to convert them to Obj first. And you need to re-texture them for a more realistic look but the models are superb. Maybe VCP can get this 3D artist to make them an SF bundle??? Hmmmm …
Andrew, where do you get your 3D models that aren’t included in the Element 3D packs? Cheers
Hey Andrew! great plugin, I was just thinking, for a while now i’ve been using a standalone prog called lumion, basically it is an architectural visualization software that uses similar principals to emelent 3d, renders everything on the fly with open GL, and they have some pretty amazing possibilities that you might find usefull and apply in to element, things like fully customizable sky with a possiblity to animate clouds, ability to import animated files from 3d packages, shadowing, reflections, objects like trees that react to the camera distance, things like snow that shade all textures in a manner that it looks like there is a snow on the objects e.t.c. check out their demo version, and i am looking forward to seeing more of the element 3d in the future. Another idea would be to allow programmers to subpluing your plugin so they could create custom extensions for element, just a thought
)
Also try GroBoto to make your own weird abstract models and shade them in E3D. It exports to Obj files
waw , that is awesome
this all whith Element 3D O_o
don’t joke whith me x_x
so epic
Tréé bien monsieu Andrew
Made my first animation in Element 3D, using optical flares and Lux (due to the 8 AE lights limitation). These are not my models, but my animation. I don’t have enough experience to split the arms from the head in Cinema4D, but here is the return of WALL-E!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQMxOkAwxEk
Its just sad that some people illegally dawnload this plugin no knowing all the hard work Andrew Karamer and his team put to make this plugin.
I sincerely will decide to buy it
Thanks Andrew Kramer for all the effort to create this plugin pusistes and give us the ability to create spectacular scenes and videos with this
Andrew, this is STUNNING!!! To think that this is possible in After Effects is pretty much unthinkable. So, so cool.
very very very very very cool the sound
Hi, I would like to know why the obj doesnt not work fine with the puppet tool? everytime I add puppet tool points and move them around, there is a mask where the main character is, why is that?
Make it Free for me Andrew since I am still a student and I use your plug-ins on my school project. Im not rich, Im just one out there, amazed of your works.
Terrible aliasing and texture filtering problems at 00:16.
But that’s what you would expect from an OGL renderer.
Mr. Kramer, you really need to address these problems.
Hi, sorry if this has already been covered but I’m a bit stuck!
I was hoping to have more animation control over my logo by breaking it into parts much as I would if it was in 2D- only I’m a bit stuck in using 2 source layers when it comes to Element.
My base extrusion is the logo text- easy enough. Problem is I cant figure out how to extrude the logo shape in the same Element layer… I don’t need to animate between them, I want them on the screen at the same time!
Obviously a small fix is to put the shape on a separate element layer, but then whichever layer is on top in the project sits on top of the other layer which makes the kind of camera moves around the once assembled logo I was hoping for impossible!
Any help??!
You have the text on Path Layer 1 under the Custom Layers and I’m guessing you have your logo on Path Layer 2. To get them both to appear on the screen at the same time go into Scene setup and where you see your text object under the scene, right click on where it says Extrusion Model and select duplicate all. On the duplicate object set it to group 2 and deselect group 1 then change the Custom path down below to Custom Path 2 and it should show both objects when you click OK. Hope that makes sense.
dman, you are a legend!
Loving the plug in- but so much to take in! Watching the tutorials an average of 4 times each but I think the creative mind clicks in with all the possibilities and I miss stuff!
Thanks again!
I recently got laid off, and decided to run my little video production company full time. I have no money, and absolutely no experience in working with 3d in After Effects…but i’ve been a fan of your work for so many years, you’ve inspired me to buy the complete Elements 3D suite and take a huge leap in trying to expand my work to include some modest 3D visual effects. Thank you for this awesome plug in, all your tuts, and for generally being a huge inspiration to a little guy way out in the sticks of New Hampshire.
Check this out – Element 3d onboard.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PQKfyYquZE&feature=youtu.be
How about the background stars? Are those an hdr bg inside of element or did you do that another way?
I guess I’m a little late to ask, but what (in the update) does the “” function do?
Oops, I was talking about the Fix Holes function.
I need “The Sound of 3D Space” After effects File and Tutorial,Please! Thanks!
now also a happy element3d owner!
the plugin is just!!!
nothing but the good stuff!!
I’d love to know how you made this scene!
WHY DOESN’T ANYONE ASK ANDREW WHERE THE HELL THOSE SOUND FX CAME FROM??
They are amazing!! Been listening to Twitch Sound FX and all but this is absolutely different.
I bought Element a month ago and its way beyond bad ass! The possibilities are endless. A very much MUST HAVE to you all FX junkies.
ANDREW:
How about those SOUND FX in this vid? Where to find?
And what about the project file? It has been already one week after a given “promise”
I`m waiting for it so much…
Project file looks great – thanks!
Just one small bug that I can’t seem to remedy:
When moving the AE camera closer to the Earth_Element layer, it looks like there is a duplication/overlaying of some of the scene materials, but ONLY from the Equator south. It appears as though some of the materials have an UV offset value applied, or the orientation is different – but all the values seem to match.
This problem is only apparent when moving the camera closer the the E3D model. Perhaps there is a workaround I haven’t thought of?
WHO KEEPS SLAMMIN THE DAMN DOOR!
Sir i love the way you record your tutorials and how you organize things. Sir, i have being having problem getting soundtrack for my project. I want to know where i can download free sound track and if there is a collection of your project file and the link to download it. Pls reply me on my mail thanks
