3D MODELS

Well, Andrew. Thank you. I just found the company I want to work for now.
Cheers.
It’s a German company: http://www.themarmalade.de
get out your rosetta stone
me too!
That extra Masters Degree in Engineering you have laying around will come in handy there!
Yeah die Deutschen sind mal wieder in der Öffentlichkeit!
Thanks for sharing.
Haha Kate thats good, i am german. And James, forget it, i will start working there
hey ths very nice work….
People like you inspire us every moment of our life.Thank You.
Just amazing! So great and inspiring video. These guys really rock. Thank you for posting!
Just awesome. Some of the shots reminded me of Element
Release it soon !
Dude, shut UP! I’m sick of people pestering the crud out of Andrew about Element on posts that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Element! It’s not like he forgot about Element or is intentionally making his fan base angry by withholding something he’s been promising for months. For goodness sake, he’s a business man; of course he’ll release Element when it’s good and ready to be released! ARGH! JUST SHUT UP UNTIL HE DOES!!!!
Chill, TW2. IV is just eager and that’s okay. I am too.
Rather than get angry, use that energy for something productive like creating more awesome AE visuals. I guarantee you’ll feel much better and we all will get to enjoy it with you.
Looks awesome but to be fair slow motion shots always do. Wish I had my own Spike!
Ro inrpirational. I’m inrpired to go outride and make romething rexy.
you know, paying attension to all the details.
you sound like scooby.
rooobie doobie doobie doo! lol.
Andrew, thanks for the interesting post
This company is really ahead of the curve. That spike system is the most advance motion control set up I’ve ever heard of! Incredible! And does anyone know the name of that great song at the end of the vid and who it’s by?
I don’t know the name of this exact song, but it’s a ripoff of Iron by Wood Kid
It is Iron – Woodkid. But some cover, with a female singer. Maybe you can find the right cover =) The original is also very good
Hi Jason! I don’t know exactly what the name of the song is, but i can tell you at least, something about on what it’s based of (in some way. Check this link: https://vimeo.com/21604065
It’s a special cover from “Woodkid – Iron” only made for Marmelade by bluwi.com
Not sure, but if you look up the trailer for. Assassins Creed. Revelation. they use a French version of this song. Maybe you can find the original version through that.
This music is a variation of the song by Woodkid. Name of the song is: Iron.
The song is Raphael Lake – Speed of Light
That camera would be incredible on a project I’m working on. Problem is, I am no photographer. But that vid makes me wonder if I should change careers….nah! lol
You sure it is Raphael Lake? cause it sounds very much like “Florence and the Machine”.
yes it is Raphael Lake – Speed of Light. they choose a good song for the reel. VC all the way.
woooooooooo
Very well Andrew , very nice slow motion and very amazing !
Thanks
Great video andrew, really intersting n thanks for sharing
Great Video! Thanks for sharing!!
Great Video, Thanks for Sharing!
they are really Good
Great job they’re doing. Acutally I recognised some of those shots are from german commercials I’ve seen lately.
Greatings from Germany and thanks for this post, Andrew!
yes thats because this is a German agency
So,… ya all’s throwin some servo’s on yer Kessler for a new tut?? Thanks for that. Gets you thinkin’. (wiggle)
Pity that all that effort and creativity is squandered on commercials to sell you stuff.
Yeah, they should be making bleeding-heart short films that are about beauty and injustice in the world to pay for all that equipment, space and feed their families. I’m sure if you have a script they’d consider it.
Amazing work…..Thanks for sharing
this is what we should all strive for… do you know where we can buy the Spike Robotic/Camera rig or something similar? Thanx for sharing Andrew!
Well..i see the Phantom HD Gold was used for High speed video, but don’t know which Robotic Arm was used, Andrew do you know which Robotic Arm they use?i think i shall contact the company.
Kuka would be my choice: http://www.kuka-robotics.com
Great video, Andrew, thanks for sharing.
Like you said the Phantom Gold was used – that camera is NOT CHEAP I can tell you. Home moviemakers who are still only doing this as a hobby, like myself, could never afford a camera like that =( It is for movie companies only.
And I was under the impression they made (had it made) the rig themselves, and the software to control it. I might be wrong. I’m pretty sure those rigs are rare though, so it could be one of a kind.
This seems to me like an either custom build or modified industrial robotic arm. It looks very familiar with those used for assembling cars and stuff.
Good ideas, great speed change for original footage and amazing color correction.
they are the keys for nice final output. Again tnx Andrew for good posts.
Its block by India Government plz upload it on youtube !!!!!!!!!
Here you go, buddy: http://youtu.be/cKC6j7pW6T0
Wonderfull compilation and awesome equipment to shoot such high quality of high-speed footage.
Now I wonder if there really is a high market for companies like this. Isn’t this way more expensive than a well respected 3D production house? To be fair the difference in 3D or real-life is hardly noticable for any graphic designer/expert let alone for the ”general customer” who actually watches these commercials.
Just my thoughts though.
Sorry Andrew, but that’s how much MONEY goes into making great stuff.
I like how he was controlling the camera with a Wacom pen….
Whats the song used at the end?
You wouldn’t think any of this footage was real, Thanks for sharing.
The drum sound reminded me of “woodkid iron” , actually the drums sound pretty much the same.
Awesome video
greatings from germany
Yes Im sure now, this is something like a female remake of this song, does someone now the title of it?
That’s exactly what I thought too! Love Woodkid.
So do I, hope someone finds out the title of this version
So much work, but also so much money!
Thats German Quality^^
Greetings from Germany
Thank you for sharing
But without the best training I ……. After Effects videocopilot.
Which is more efficient-
creating these shots with software or in the real world like they do?
Am I the only one who got goosebumps and a few tears in my eyes when that montage video began? I completely froze. IT WAS FREAKING BEAUTIFUL! :’)
thnx for sharing this
Great video. Will think about it when I see a commercial made this way.
André
Some really great stuff. I’m out in SF and there is a company out here that is doing some really insane work with robots as well. Should be interesting to see how that all plays out the industry. Check out Bot & Dolly if this type of work interests you ( http://www.botndolly.com )
Amazing! I wanna robot like that! Ill ask it to santa claus! Hehe
I think VC 3D Element will make similar FX. Really Inspiring . Thanks
NEVER, you will never get this amount of coolness and randomness in any 3D program, even a heavy 10 terabyte Houdini fluidsim with mantra or VRay render isn’t as cool as that!
Wow amazing! These german guys rock! Grüße aus Deutschland an euch!
Awesome footage!
At the 04:00+… there is a music in the background like in Assassin’s Creed Revelations Trailer.
Wow. That score is outrageous. Starting at about 4:01 – it sounds like a James Bond title song. I’ve replayed that part about 5 times now!
well, what i see is only style…
We knows that a today’s new style is going to be obsolete tomorrow.
Everyone of us in 1999 remained intimidated watching the matrix bullet time shot. Now, in 2012 I personally find this effect quite boring…
I guess that every special effect in this marmelade demoreel will become obsolete in a few years.
The emptyness of style strikes again…
So just because the style might be old and obsolete in a few years, you can’t enjoy and appreciate the innovation and creativity of it right now? That sounds really sad and depressing to not be able to enjoy what we experience in the moment and just look at everything as it will be in the future as… dead and boring.
style is different from ART
Tru, what is your job?
the interior decorator?
this video would be much better if the english synchron speaker is not so loud, cause they speak german
Can you give us any more info on the release of Element?
Element 3D Its not coming and he has most likely ditched the project! Andrew has other projects to work on that make him money. Because of a lot of people illegally downloading videocopilot content, the company doesn’t make a profit like it should. People need to start BUYING the DVDs to support this amazing guy and his business!! Even just ONE DVD every few months c’mon guys.
Dude, shut UP! I’m sick of people pestering the crud out of Andrew about Element on posts that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Element! Got tired of waiting so I coded my own open source version of element using basic. Here it is if anybody is interested..
>10 PRINT “ELEMENT”
>20 GOTO 10
Wow look at all the pretty colors! If only you’d coded Optical Flares before I put down hard earned money for it.
Thanks for sharing.
And since they speak german in this film: Kann ich bei euch arbeiten?
Wow! What camera ultra, how many frames the camera records?
The Phantom Gold can shoot 1000 frames per second at 1080p resolution, 1500 fps at 720p, all the way down to 2200 fps in 512×512
I certainly think they normally don’t go under 720p at least, gotta keep that lovely HD!
The newer Phantom high speed cameras can go all the way to 10 000 fps! But that is in like 200×200 pixels or something
Wow! Very inspirational. That’s attention to detail and seeing outside the box.
Reminds me of Alex Romans inspiring work but his stuff is fully CGI:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWE18YjLA8U
Amazing!!!!
Lot of work, lot of equip, but the results worth….WORTH!!
No 3D can reach this level of quality, ever!
greetings from Brazil
amazing! the drums shot remind me of Sherlock Holmes(fighting scenes)
just because how awesome these people are you can’t is it a visual effect shot or a real shot impressive!
Wayne mentioned Alex Roman…in my opinion the most talented 3D artist bar none. This is all CG…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpDtqp3rfhc
beautiful creative refreshing.
Fantastic as always. Thanks Andrew
Is it bad that I wanted to applauded when the video was done! Wow, very impressive
This is amazing on so many different levels! The beauty of the shot, the focus on the subject, the lighting, the compositing, the programing, the tool design and building, the eye to catch the right moment in slow-mow, the patience to do a shot over and over and over to get the one true shot. The advertising budget for beer and soda must be in the trillions $$$$
AMAZING Bro…. you know dude how to make motion video with software ??
answer me
effortless, thanks Mr. ANDREW 4 SHARING WIT US
all food shots are mouth watering thanks for sharing this video
Hi VC
Thanks
When the Element 3D is Coming ?
Is too Late

HI, wonderful ideas for exceptional pictures !
I have noticed in this video than Andrew have borrowed his new plug-in for AE in 5mn.25sc
I am impressed by the speed of camera ! Maybe they can film matrix without put fifty statics shots !
I’m gonna ask me one of those high speed camera’s with Spike for my upcoming birthday!
Great! What a company! And hey, ..made in Germany!
Weiter so, Jungs!!
Greetings from Hamburg
After seeing this clip I think, that around 90% is reel filmed footage.
The other 10 % are Color Correction and fine tuning in post with some CG and Compositing.
Wow just Wow … and I was thinking that the choclate part on any ads was made by CG .. what camera they use? RED EPIC?
Phantom HD
They used a Phantom HD GOLD. Wonderful high-speed camera.
using what camera i can record scenes like this?
Only question I have is how on earth are these guys making so much money to afford to make things like this? It’s rather catch 22 isn’t it! You need the work to get the kit and you need the kit to get the work! Would love to know how they started out. Although I’ve only seen this without audio so maybe they explain that? Still though… Lovely show reel! Big up!
Wow ! Their job looks like very funny ! And also beautiful as well
ES TREMENDOOOO! ARGENTINA QUIERE SUB EN ESPAÑOL!!!!
Seeing 90% of this stuff I would have just said “well… probably cg”
… incredible
seriously andrew put some news about element 3d its not proffesional make a update or something !

Cool video, just shows what can really be done.with loads of bucks, great technology, and deep imagination.
Fascinating>
I found this video boring. It’s a technical success but empty in artistic point of view. An accumulation of macro slow motions to sell some beer and yoghourt???
Not my “tasse de thé” (my tea cup) as we say in french.
Yeah, totally agree
New Tutorial, how to build your own spike. Can you do it Andrew?;3
Cool! now we can key frame a physical camera… Yeah….!
Heyy! greats video! Camera:PHANTOM CAMERA?
Thanks for sharing. its so cool and amazing what level of plain awesomeness real elements can bring to you work, when shot and composited correctly! inspiring and super cool! thanks so much
VCP said that they were going to release element 3D more than a year ago…. -____-
but anyway, what kind of camera crane is that????
Maybe VC is making Element 3D ready for CS6

lets just ignore the elephant in the cockpit…
you know what I mean ?!
This looks awesome but it seems like a lot of effort when most all of this can be done with CG at half the cost.
Very inspiring stuff there. Must be wonderful to wake up and knowing that’s your job. Lucky sons of …..
Looked like they were using nuke to comp? Great work.
Although I know that 3D software can also execute exactly the same thing,
but nothing can really beat the real thing. that was refreshingly awesome!!!
Oh Spike would be perfect solution for my idea of advertising spot for one bmw workshop I had last week. Too shame…
And check my latest work:
http://vimeo.com/44090912
It’s only pre-version, but most of the shots will be the same, some require debugging, retiming and better cuts.
Great look-inside! I prefer the sequences with the bavarian beer
It’s simply unreal.
Hey there, that was amazing man. Always is.
Know what?
If you look really close, you can see that…
Bananas are curved.
Incridible, a new hightech for CG, camera Movie .
There’s nothing like the real thing, baby. I was facinated by “spike” the motion camera system precision matched with the high speed video camera. How the hell do you pull focus that fast and accurately without a robot? I knew I learned German as a second language for a reason (lol).
tutorial request mr.awesome! – can you discuss more about roto tracking, make some good motion out of it?, things i can do about roto?
Germans:)Greetings from Germany:P
In the video I can see several footage from commercials that are currently running on TV, really interesting!
I think the high speed cameras will be the next thing to go consumer grade just as 3D has.
I know what Andrew wants for X-Mas……robot?
Gorgeous Devices! wow! yah thats german Quality
Awesome! Really interesting to watch.
It is Just SICKENING how great that stuff looked. Makes me wanna just destroy everything I have ever done and start from scratch………Just Kidding. They are amazing though. I thought Troika had some skills, Marmalade is like Troika x1000, from thought process to production to final render. Now that is a Like WHOA!!!!
Will you be announcing any more info about element?
I don’t think the plug-in isn’t coming at all. For a guy that knows his sh#t better than most he surely has let this plugin go out the window, otherwise it would already have been served up to us already, waiting to buy it! It’s clear that videocopilots taken a back seat for Andrew Kramer and he probably makes more money working on projects with his production company, after all he does have a family to support.
Dude, shut UP! I’m sick of people pestering the crud out of Andrew about Element on posts that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Element! Hey guys, Andrew announced on twitter that Element was due release in a ‘few days’… That was 15 days ago… What’s up? Have you run into problems that will ultimately spell the end for the plugin????
I don’t think the plug-in isn’t coming at all. For a guy that knows his sh#t better than most he surely has let this plugin go out the window, otherwise it would already have been served up to us already, waiting to buy it! It’s clear that videocopilots taken a back seat for Andrew Kramer and he probably makes more money working on projects with his production company, after all he does have a family to support.
How do you work that out?
When he was asked, he said June.
People were whining when he didn’t put content for a bit, and now they’re whining when a plugin wasn’t released quite as quickly as they think they deserve.
Maybe there’s a bug, maybe something cropped up with CS6, maybe he just wants it to be perfect rather than release something not quite there, and end up dealing with complaints.
One thing is certain, I don’t know for sure – and neither do you.
Dude, shut UP! I’m sick of people pestering the crud out of Andrew about Element on posts that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Element! Grant, they won’t answer that question. They rarely do.
Still, you’re the best, AK.
WOW! OMG! and I want a JOB there! thanks andrew
I never knew such thing existed though I have imagined. I thought those kind of animations could only be done by CG. Great share Andrew.
I can’t find a words! Super awesome’n'amazing!
HeY hey hey guys. Looks like elements Ian nearly here. Andrews been posting the final details on twitter. I’d say another month and it will be released. By the sounds of it he’s doing FAQ, and the packaging etc. cooolllll
I’m starting to wonder if Element 3D was just a cruel joke…
Dude, shut UP! I’m sick of people pestering the crud out of Andrew about Element on posts that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Element! “How much Work”? I say How much Money!
If every one of AK’s twitter followers would donate a buck, that’s 50000$ to hire a programmer or two to work out whatever cs6 issues they r having with element. Is sergio tweaking element AND fixing the optical flares/twitch cs6 issues all by himself??? If wikipedia can ask for funds…
finally, someone else who understands how ridiculous the Element junkies and nay-sayers are being! He says he will… HE WILL! Just let him do his job!
Great job! Really interesting to watch.
i think element 3d was never release !
i don’t like videocopilot now :’(

Hey, does anyone know from where I can download this kind of videos? Is there any website you can find this images (videos) to buy and what is that called?
Thank you!
You can download this video in 1080p from vimeo for free, I put it on my ipad and it looks great!
get opera browser , and look in cash folder:)
Guys elements IS coming. Andrews doing the FAQ at this moment. I’d say another month or two and it will be here. So everyone just chill and check his twitter pages more.:)
Andrew who won the matte painting contest?
OK, really?! this is a post about the details of video production, you idiot! NOT about the matte painting contest. Jeez, I thought the Element crowd were the only ones who pestered the crud out of Andrew on posts that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do the original post. Go pitch and moan on a RELEVANT post. OK?
DYLAN COLE.
He left a message and said you owe him fifteen hundred bucks and he’s laying for you.
whats your problem wolf? you sounded like you have a small dick or something heres a stick as small as your dick go fetch wofff woffff….
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHOW MUCH THEY CHARGE FOR A COMMERCIAL? WHAT RANGE ARE WE TALKING ABOUT…
The guy I work for is WAY smarter than ALL those people.
“It’s a picture.
You have a camera.
TAKE the picture!”
See… simple.
Really stunning. But it’s sad to think that all this work is justified merely by promoting a product, maybe because only a firm, and a large one, can afford funding projects like these. It would be interesting to see such an outstanding creativity not applied to a “market”, but completely free, I mean, like an expression of art. Is there any artist who is able to work this way?
You could be that artist, Tess. And honestly, I don’t see using the visuals to sell products as a negative. Art is not purposeless. It is an expression of who we are. Companies are an entity and the smart ones use visuals like these to illustrate their creativity as an organization. If anything, it makes me want to look into that company to learn more about it.
Wooow, cool video, thanks Andrew!
Still No Elements Man You said this month at the Adobe Meeting
Woah, some people are getting waaaaay to
Excited! Stop for a second, look in the mirror and see if you can tell yourself that a PLUGIN for AE is worth the bloodpressure.
Calm down. I am sure he has a reason for all
The delays. In the meantime, fire up AE and make some art!
Amazing!!!!
Lot of work, lot of equip, but the results worth….WORTH!!
No 3D can reach this level of quality, ever!
RAM KANDEL …NEPAL
Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
Is it just me or did they completely change the song at the end?
Wasn’t this the old one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXodLF5zfVA
Amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing…..
no words to explain……….
It’s so amazing how the everyday objects around us become so beautiful and emotion filled when viewed in such a way.
That’s amazing!
