Great!

we are going down!!!!
Andrew,
You have come a LONG way since your first tutorial and you guys only get better…..I love watching SAM in these shorts. He is hilarious.
I Swear u people are geniuses ive been a fan for long time…keep it up video copilot…and thanks for helping people like us…much appreciated.
your the most awesome men i’ve ever met. !!!
I know you hear it all the time but I would come work a week with you for free just to have the opportunity to learn from the greatest!!!!
It looks great. My only issue is that the flames do not seem to be moving at the right speed. They flutter slower than they should. Their movement would be significantly faster due to the speed of the aircraft. Those are just my opinions, and let’s face it, who am I to judge?
Indonesian :wah keren sekali…saya tidak sabar menunggu tutorialnya. Kau yang terbaik
in English : wow its very cool, I can’t wait for the Tutorial. Yo’re the best
It’s just absolutely amazing !!!
com on andrew, and the tutorial?

Kramerican Airlines LOL
Can’t wait man! You guys are awesome! ;D
Came here to say that!
Kramerican Airlines is FREE to fly, we ONLY charge your landing!
Yeah…Kramerican Airlines is also free to KRAsh anytime!!!
Hey Andrew, where did you find the image of the inside of the plane? I have looked for images such as that (‘cept with trains, cars, etc.) and have had little to no luck.
Thanks,
Joe
it was probably a 3D model..
Hmm… So the next time you fly, carry your camera in your cabin baggage. And either be the first to take a seat inside or the last to leave.
Pro Tip
I’d like to know too. If it’s a model, please show how you lit it up?
Very nice. Can’t wait!
Oh 4th(i think)!! Is my first time!!! WOOOWWW Amazing video!!
6th, my error. I noticed that you use action essential for the burning part, that pretty good!! Exelent Kramer!!
If you read the forum rules section, posting your comment number is actually against the forum rules.
@kaymanThis isnt the forum
@videocopilot OMG this is gonna be awesome
That’s pretty damn sweet man. Will you teach us how to create this plane in 3D? Would be awesome!
> Great work.
Amazing, I loved it, great editing, and love the end line “Make that 5 minutes”
Just Amazing!

Very nice! Will you be covering the work done on the plane exteriors?

Awesome editing and superduper effects! Love the smoke! I think that’s the best ’til now!
Awesome looking tutorial, I like your jokes more than your tutorials, why dont have one of your own made jokes DVD, I will be the first person to buy it.
just kidding , I am eager for Andrew Kramer tutorials.
Er… So… You WON’T be the first person to buy the DVD…
Or you won’t BUY the DVD?
Really good. Feature film effects good.
The stuff you’re teaching us to do is such high quality, Awesome work as always.
….and now I’ve seen the finished thing, complete with specular lighting effects, I’ll let you off your Kramerican Airlines pun too.
I must confess the 5 minute gag made me laugh out loud.
perfect. i am waiting for tutorial
a tutorial to show us how to smoke with the Smoke fx? it will be great !!!
Classic man. Maybe Sam can save the day….on second thought….nah…ah ok maybe for 2012? Sam is like the “Live” version of Wiley Coyote…
Excellent work. Very impressed with the small details like dirt and scratches looking through windows. Better looking than some of the work being done in broadcast now.
I’m going to fly with that airline…
Anyway, great vid!
OMG, that’ll help a lot of people from being afraid to fly..hehe
Love it!
Wow! good job Andrew, Sam and all team of Video Copilot, GBU guys…
The vfx part is amazing no question. Its Sams Spirit, but the Pilot is outstanding, just fun,thx 4that.
I’d love it if you could cover in some tutorial how to do sound design. For example how you did the intercom(?) voice.
Great video as well!
Yes! I Agree!
Please Andrew! It would be really good.
I agree. Even just a general mention of your tips or creation process for the sound design and music that you use in your promo vids would be appreciated. Usually sound design is handled by another company in professional broadcast presentations however, I do my own sound design for my motion graphics projects and would really be interested in your process of this very important aspect in presentation.
Thanks Andrew, your work is inspirational!
A tut on how to use Adobe Soundboot would be very helpfull.
I allready use it and it isnt to hard. but it would be nice to have a masterclass in it
i used soundboot for this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0BfMAQovvo
it is also my first clip i made without a tutorial so it makes me extra proud
Hi, Skye:
You can find some amazing tutorials in two different packs of Video Copilot: Designer Sound FX and Pro Scores. Andrew explains in them some different techniques, using various softwares to make the sound editing. Maybe it will be usefull for you.
Ps. Excellent video, by the way. Great lighting work.
Thanks CRoblex, I’m familiar with VC’s Sound design products and tuts. It’s not really additional techniques of sound design that I’m interested in. I’m more interested in how and where Andrew gets his sound for recent promos. Not expecting him to share his secrets or anything – just maybe a hint. Does he have access to a studio that creates/composes these sound designs and scores from scratch or does he buy them etc. Just curious
Ah, OK, Skye, sorry. Yes, I supose they create most of their sound FX in their studio, but maybe they use some other sound packages. There are a lot of them in the market, but they’re usually expensive (like the Sony one).
Anyway, now I’m curious too. Andrew, any hints?
Hey guys try this. I use Adobe Audition for this. This is not exact but sound a little same.
In Audition import your audio->go to Favorites->select Telephone Voice-> from Effects use Amplify if needed. That should sound like Andrew a little. May a little bit of noise effect will work too. Again, it’s just MY way so please give positive feedbacks…;D
wooooooow mr kramer so amazing!!! prefect timing for me i need this in a movie i’m about to make!! will you have real planes on gooseschmear?
owwww, amazing. waiting for the tut……
Never fly Kramaerican Airlines unless you’re ready for a non-stop roller coaster thrill ride!!
Make that 5 minutes..
I got stuck onboard a plane for 4 hours after landing literally 5 days ago.. should have flown kramerican..
Looks great! Did you model that plane yourself?
Andrew, you are today’s filmmaker genius, you know?
A bit off topic… what do you use to compress videos for Vimeo? Settings? Thanks so much.
wowo! we wait…for tut plz !!! :X:X:X
Cant wait!!!!Thank you so much for putting your time and effort to help us learn all these quality effects and helpful tips and techniques with your tutorials.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk4o2o1vQaY&list=PL0B6C5AE7831D48AC
Oh no not this HUD video again.
All I want to see is how to make a 3D plane like that! xP

Remind me not to fly Kramerican, even if there’s no baggage fees.

U`re Crazy Andrew
:D
That looks amazing, I’m stoked for some new particle systems love.
Where do you get your music?
Hey Andrew,
found the free plane model on turbosquid similar to yours.
it was for 3dmax, now i looked for c4d but they are crappy. I am working with c4d 11.5.I assume you are going to be doing the animation in 3dmax, any sulotions for c4d to get it ready for after effects composite?
Let me think. You used Particular, Action Essentials 2 and as always, Optical Flares.
Kayman, excellent green screen keying technique
Andrew Kramer, excellent green screen keying technique

Anybody notice why Andrew was the copilot?
Wow, I’ve always wanted to do something like this.
Andrew, you’re a god among men.
But what happened to the other tutorials for the iphone app short film?
You and your sense of humor, always make me laugh out loud! You should be a stand up comedian! Thanks for the heads up! Kramerican Airlines! xD One word Andrew “Creative, Artistic, Innovative” Oh that’s three! Keep it up, you have always been an inspiration to me.
hahahaha!pretty good!was that fumefx?
need 3d animated flying cloud tuts also!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sweet, this shows what a real pro can accomplish, I am going to pray you do a tutorial on how you did this effect, I know it would open so many doors, the applications r endless. You da man!
The first time I visited your website, some years ago, I said: Wow! this man, “Kramer” has talent. But every time I visit your website just to see what’s new, I am more convinced that you are certainly one of the best. Visit VideoCopilot.net is like when you’re watching a series on TV, every day you get excited to know what will happen tomorrow. (It has become an addiction).
I know that you don’t know me Mr. Kramer, but I’m proud of you. *You have the power to create a movie, I still don’t know what you’re waiting for. I’ve always wanted to do a movie but although I have many ideas, I don’t have the necessary resources. You have the most important… your knowledge, Take advantage of it. Andrew? Good Luck with everything, Man!
YOU JUST TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!!!
That’s true, I don’t know if Andrew realizes this but he has helped tons and tons of people…including me. I am only 16 and have been learning After Effects for about 10 months and I thought this is impossible. But after I found VideoCopilot I was able to learn A FREAKING LOT OF STUFF at sonic boom speed! Thanks Man…KEEP ROCKIN and KRAshing (airplanes!) ;D
People usually forget that Video Copilot is much more than one person, and also forget that Mr. Kramer is much more than a talented guy. He’s a proffesional, and VideoCopilot is a real company, guys. They have some brillant, stunning products like Optical Flares, Action Essentials 2 and, soon, Element.
And, of course, they have more than talent: a lot of professional resources, experience and their amazing products. The free tutorials in this website are just a gift, a present for us, poor insects. That’s something that most people usually forget too.
Congrats, VC and AK. You guys give some sense to my insignificant existence!
There is a huge step up from making a three shot clip of a plane into making a full blown movie.
I would assume it’s not that Andrew couldn’t do this (’cause I’m sure he’s thought about it just like most of us have), but the timescales involved are overwhelming.
That’s why ILM et al evoke production pipelines and hundereds of artists, becuase one or two guys (or even 10) would take so long to create a movie up to the standard of motion pictures nowadays.
I’d love to see one too, and who knows, if Andrew has a spare 5 years maybe we will
Besides, I’m sure he’s too busy trying to fix this back-slash bug in his comments to make a feature.
Facefox on a Mac BTW
I agree 100% Adderly. But now that I have been visiting here a while and doing the tutorials more I can actually see why Kramer is “Not” doing a more lengthy project. He certainly has the talent and could get the backing and the equipment, it has nothing to do with logistics in my view. I think it is because he is making products. He might not be making movies, but he is making products that make everyone movies that much better. So, in a way, you could say that he is involved in many many productions instead of just one or two. As well, there is great demand for his products. I voted for VCP to start making a “Film School” series of products that instead of just after effects, they went over basic and advanced camera usage and things just like this tutorial that are showing people how to plan out and shoot video for greater effects. Please do not bemoan that he is not making movies on his own. Instead, he is kindly helping all of us and I believe that to be a more noble goal. We just need to support him by promoting him and buying the products from him that we need, even if they aren’t products that he makes.
wow, that exact thing happened to me two weeks ago out of Ontario airport. Not as much fun as it looks in this video, that’s for sure.
those two scenes with full plane model are really cool. Hope you will show us how to compose 3D model with sky texture to create this nice atmosphere. Thanks Andrew
Excellent !! Very Nice! looking forward to the tutorial!!
awesome looking forward
Hi Andrew
Thanks for this tutorial
very good
very nice
thanks
Cool preview. Can’t wait to understand why the burning wing falls from top(you tube 25 Sec) and comes parallel to the airplane body and how such a realistic airplane and sky was done.
I think what he will show you is how to NOT make it come from the top since it does not in the main shot. I think it might just be a simple glitch in his unedited footage at the 25 second mark.
The ‘wingfall’ is just a neat way to clue the viewer into how the shot was constructed. i.e. it was a digital comp dropped in and then moved about on a layer to fake the turbulance. It goes from greenscreen, to keyed and colour corrected, to background plate, wing, flame elements etc. Then dirty lensovision
Super nice – and funny as always
So huge!… Another impressive video.
Cheers to the team. You’re awesome!

OH MY GOD!
Amazing! Ahhh!
Hi, Is it possible to do tutorial how to make this plane and how to make a situation like in the video?
I was on a KRAMERICAN AIRLINES Pontoon Plane Flight from Wrangell to Ketchikan once.
The only thing it DIDN’T do, was burn up an engine !!!
Kind of a ‘reverse’ coincidence !!!
just cant wait this is something i have bean waiting for 4 a longtime andrew gud work
It´s at times like this when we are truly grateful that you choose to follow your calling as a tut maker for AE over what society and probably your parents wanted for you… piloting an airship. Seriously… look how that turned out…
you guys should make a full length film
Now you’re thinkin’.
Did you know that Dr. Strangelove and Psycho were INDIE films.
Considering the World Wide Following that Sam Loya has, it’s doable!!!
It’s not just a fan-base, it’s a Free CREW of potentially thousands.
How about it Sam?
(Ask that Andy what’s his face if he’d be interested too…)
KRAMERICAN AIRLINES SOUND GREAT,LOL!
AN AMAZING GUY SHARING AMAZING THINGS ALL THE TIME!
KIND REGARDS FROM MEXICO!
apik tenan mas Andrew, tak tunggu tutoriale yo

This looks awesome!!! Andrew you are the best!!!
thx for this…………………….
Great, but….. with five engines??????? it would had been more realistic with just two engines. it’s just my opinion. Anyway you are one of the most talented FX creators for us. Thanks for all your work.
Hi Andrew,
i am going to do a career shift from and art director print to art director movies
Thanks Buddy
You are doing a great job
Cheers!
Ashwin

Wow…is that fire element available later?
Hello. I wanted to recommend these two videos we have done, which relied heavily on After Effects to fill effects,) I say it’s worth spending a few minutes, you will like and has much work to do. A greeting!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBPxSKhmAjw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuH_sKOMotA
I would totally be one of the people to fly Kra-American Airlines, they probably play tutorials for the whole flight!
Looking forward to see how you guys do it…Hope it´s not the end of my business.
I can’t wait for that tutorial. BTW, it’s totally worth flying Kramerican Airlines for the free carry-on! Who cares about the occasional crash-landing?

You know Andrew you make really amazing tutorials and videos. You should get some people together and do little short film with tons of effects, maybe 5 mins long. Make ultimate use of every tutorial you made so far (well almost every lol) Thank you for making those tutorials for us. You amazing

we can’T wait Andrew u’re the BEST…
Awesome as usual. Love the little intricate things you throw in to make it all come together. Now i feel like i have to invest more time in learning C4D just to keep up with you.
ANDREW KRAMER!!! We love you and thank you for these wonderful tutorials.
Would have loved to have seen a bit of shimmer or light glare across the top of the aeroplane as it turns, just to add a bit more of realism…using the OPTICAL FLARES!
But great job Andrew…love it!
I’d really like to see a tutorial with Sam as a WWI or WWII fighter pilot. Something that shows us how to 360 HDRI panoramas and fake ground movement. Maybe I’ll figure it on my own, but it would be more fun to watch Sam doing it…
nice n smooth Kramerican airlines
Hey! Very nice job! I’m really interested about, how did you do the smoke and fire from the engine of the plane! I know your main profile is the After effects but I really pruseat if you make a tutorial in reelflow or in that software what you used to make that smoke effect!
Does Kramerican Airlines have a good frequent flyer program? and do you have the mile high club ?

Great Andrew, I really liked the way that the plane looks. What kind of HDRI did you used for this? I mean the plane is about 15 miles above the ground, and I see a thin reflection of some sort on the shadow side, like a sheen thing, like they use for the mobiles.
Great Stuff man!!
Cheers
Sounds like Kramerican Airlines needs a CO-PILOT…get it…get it? No?
Great Job
HAHAHAHAHAAHHA!!!! NICEEEE

Hurry up, please, and place your promising tutorial about airplane landing in a short time! I’m ill with such of kind waiting!!! be so kind!!!
Hi Andrew!
Wow this is awesome! I hope that you’d be able to cover the tuts for em’ all, including that 3d plane. The camera move seems organic which is really great. I Also noticed that the lens flare at the end of the video seems to give an effect of light hitting the (probably dirty)lens of the camera, please cover that too!:D Thanks man, you’re a prodigy.
Madus
Wow! Great! That saved my day
Hope to see tutorial soon.
Usually GREAT!!!!
Waiting for tut….
How long is it gonna take to tutorial? anyone knows?
I love these tutorials. I’ve learned so much about AE from you guys. Going to have to buy some stuff from your store as a give back.
I can’t wait. You’re so good, Andrew.
Please make tutorial
Andrew, The one of the best men ever!
Great great stuff! Something was funny with the air bus’ wing that seemed to fall down and snapped back in position as the camera zoomed in. Don’t know how that happened though.
I want that music in the video ò.ó
Tell me, when can we buy that package?
When is this tut coming?

ok i have been waiting for a very very long time
I heard that the plane did actually crash and sadly the Copilot died on impact – so there will be no more tutorials for a while. What is especially sad is that Mr Kramer had only just recovered from an earlier car-over-the-cliff-whilst-texting incident…
OK!!!! Anytime now for the tutorial Andrew!!! Let’s get er dun!!!!

This is super cool! Though I do want to note that the “clouds through the burning wing” seems kinda weird considering it isn’t going through clouds in the other shots.

Man, I’m checking the blog everyday, just waiting the tutorial… where are you Andrew?
Thanks !
OK People need to calm the **** down – Andrew is not an unemployed teenage bum who lives at his moms house! – he propably have a shitload of cool work to do besides making FREE quality tutorials and dont have time to server the hungering Aftereffects masses
– either that or he has been working constantly on this plane tutorial every day for 10 hours straight since he posted this – and man i really want to belive that but… im affraid its not likely… – so wake up and smell the coffee – money makes the world go around
he should actually make a small event where everytime he has sold 30 products he makes a tutorial – showing a countdown…
This is so cool! I can’t believe you’ve got so far. This looks just like what you would see in a movie! Thank you so much for all you’ve done for us with all the tutorials and products and just awesome stuff going on on the website.
Fabuloso esperando tutorial…
Dude! You are seriously funny!!! It’s After Effects Time!!!
LOL!!!
I used to be very exited waiting for this tutorial
Idk whats going but it’s been so long i’m loosing interest
If we could get an estimate for when this tutorial is released, I didn’t have to check the website 4 times every day
Although I probably would anyway
I’ve been doing the same thing.
Me too
Same here
ANDREW!
Y U NO POST TUTORIAL YET!?
Why Kramerican Airline taking long to get here? lol

Still waiting for the tut Andrew….
En avant !
Lock yourself in the lavatory?
Anxious for this tutorial! I have had a similar idea in my head for a zombie flick!
Can´t wait for this great tut no more! I hope there will be also a 3ds Max part where we could see some infos on rendering etc.
Please give us a hint when it will be published approx…..
The tutorial will NEVER come out. I think with all the work he has going on there is just no time for him to get it done. Congrats to Andrew on all his success but you have to admit Videocopilot has went downhill the past year or two. Updates are few and far between. There has not been a new product out in ages. Tutorials are sparce. I knew the day would come and its sad but we just have to take what we can get and support Andrew in all his endevors.
IM CHECKING OUT THIS PAGE EVERY 2 HOURS !!! WHEN WILL THE TUTORIAL BE PUBLISHED GOOOOD DAMN ?!?!?
The Natives are getting restless ….
Plz upload tutorial fast…desperately waiting since long time now
what about the end of the movie? Sam ! will survive???

Andrew I’m so thankful people like you helping the community indie industry around the world put their 2 cents of skills that turns out the impossible to possible in making videos or independent films. as a former music producer now a director/editor based 100% of everything I learned online videocopilot.net, I gotta thank you and your team for making this possible and giving me the fastest way of learning what I always had passion for to combined My Music now with My visual stories, all original, all together…no more, no less…
truly a blessing…!
by the way, your 2 cents are like $2 million to many of us
soon I’ll share my work!!!
Thanks Andrew!!!
Awesome! waiting for the tutorial!
These tutorials take a lot of time to complete and post for everyone to enjoy. Add to that, a life away from all of this and other well paying commitments…you get the idea. Whenever the tutorial is posted, it will be well worth it and the wait we are experiencing will be a forgotten memory. “Gotta love VideoCopilot”, I do.
poor, sam, everytime he… how about Adrew plays the acter and sam shot the video. like hancock
Almost two months, want to bet ? Will he make the tutorial before or after 2 months ?
Hey guys, Have you considered the fact something might have happened to him. Maybe he was caught up in the hurricane. Just thinking :1
Great!
what are the render settings?
We must understand that doing tutorials take a long time to complete, and remember that this is only an extra that he does for us despite his busy schedule doing real world projects.Let’s just cut the guy some slack, we’re all just visitors at his website afterall.
I agree Madus. While I am excited for each and every tutorial, it takes a large effort just to compile the project in a way that can be explained to the novous, build the script, actually film the tutorial, cut the tutorial and then produce the tutorial. It will come when it comes.
Andrew,
I think it goes without saying, although there are plenty who do say and I too feel compelled to say, these tutorials are not only so well done, but so educational that I have really expanded my knowledge of the products exponentially because of your team. Thank you for taking the extra time to walk us through everything in the fasion you do. What a blessing you are for many.

I think this kramerican airline never took off from the airport and the plane never crashed since the tutorial is taking ages. Andrew have mercy time and life is short I might join my ancestors before trying this tutorial.
err…how many engines has that plane got?
Hey Andrew!
Did you make the DC 10 Model?
It looks great with the lightning you used!
what is name of the song , love the song can your tell use the name of the song
Where did you get the sky texture from?
LOL! Kramerican airlines! Awsome!
Pretty Good!!!
Want to see the tutorial. Please Make it available…
Hi Andrew
where can I find the 3D model of the plane? Or buy?
thanks
I actually don’t get it. In the trailer of Element 3D you get to see this plane flying in the air. It’s the exact same footage, but in this tutorial he showed us that he actually rendered it out in 3Ds Max. So my big question is; Can you do the same effect on both (program and plug-in)?
andrew in ghana we say you be too much im a fun u r awsome man
