Sam gets blown up (again), but this time for good. Awesome effects scene of Sam ascending to heaven, the large pearly gates open, angels lead Sam into a huge room streaming with pure light where Sam finds himself standing before the throne of…ANDREW?? [EEEEEevil laughter.] Hole opens up under Sam, free fall, explosions, flames, rivers of molten lava (but with lots of really nice sparkly floaty particles and dramatic lens flares.)

I guess it will have something to do with camera thingies, but I’m not really sure. Looking forward to it! Also can’t wait for 64-bit plug-ins. Because I installed AE CS5 and the plug-ins don’t work, when later I discovered it only works for the 64 bit plug ins, but (I guess) why then Glow effect is 32?.

this mysterious effect is called “cut”. this means you suddenly change the camera position, the scenery and sometimes even the point in time! :O

Somethings wrong with you people, get a hold of your selves, take action for your own learning, your drooling over every post this guy makes. It seems as if your relying souly on him. Begging him to help make you look good, I see post of people pleading for him to blow up a car, if you really paid attention to Andrew’s Tutorials & studied After Effects then you would be able to challenge your self to do that Fx yourself but instead, your waiting for the next tutorial to come out instead of working things out yourselves. I come here and I get a good laugh of all the fakers in this community but it just saddens me the amount of what seem like dependent learners out there. Andrew is no different than anybody else, he just has more experience. Anybody can make a film, its going out & doing it and coming up with a creative concept that makes you good. Do it your self people, & use websites like this to inspire you and educate you, not to breast feed you for the rest of your life.

I have to agree with Handel Eugene here, he makes a good point and makes it very well. We should all acknowledge how important this site, Andrew and his team have been in educating us but it’s up the individual to take what they’ve learned and develop their own skills.
Stop asking stupid questions and go learn how to use After Effects, learn from what you’re being taught and develop your own style instead of trying to be a clone. Andrew’s a talented guy, let’s just be content to find inspiration and education here.

Matthew Sabia, you’re completely wrong. I’m nothing to do with the guy who posted the original comment, I was simply agreeing with him. No one said there was anything wrong with learning from someone, it’s the people who can only imitate what Andrew does who are being criticised. I’m entitled to my opinion just as you’re entitled to yours so don’t come on here claiming that I’m wrong just because your opinion differs from mine.
This site taught me the fundamentals of After Effects and without it I’d have been struggling. The difference is that I’ve taken what I’ve been taught and developed my own style although I continued to learn and be inspired by what I see here.
Just because two seperate people can communicate in proper English doesn’t mean they’re the same person.

Hope it’s gonna be something like Sam gets down of the car, a big earth quake and the whole parking roof fall on his head, lots of blood and then a halo from optical flares appears, Sam is back from the dead yeehee
I wondered how long it would be before the points raised by Handel Eugene were made. I am also not surprised by Matthew jumping to Andrew’s defence – in fact, given his passionate following coupled with the somewhat caustic tone in the message, I would have expected even more of a reaction.
We all know that the vfx community is full of people that can follow a VCP tutorial and arrive at the same result as Andrew. The web is full of what are known as “Kramers” – copies of the tutorials, in many cases even utilise the same plate footage or image set. I wonder how many of these “vfx artists”, when confronted with a different project or context, would be able to correctly identify the workflow and techniques required – let alone implement these to a comparable standard?
The problem is that, when working through a tutorial that is focussed on a pre-determined outcome, is that it is too easy to adopt a lazy style of ‘rote’ learning in which we move from step 1 to step 21 in the same way as a chimp is taught to perform a basic task such as making a cup of coffee. I guess the only way for individuals to measure their progress in vfx is, as Matthew states, to “set yourself a challenge”, something like replicating an effect from a tv show or movie – and picking something that is not covered by an online tutorial.
Don’t take my comments as an attack on VCP. I think the tutorials are great and Andrew is an exceptional talent.
VC gain inspiration from this garage.

Andrew is great, Im big fan of him, and I dont except him to make tutorial on everything he do. there is enough tuts on this site to keep me going, my only wish is that he make include C4D in hes tutorials like he did in the latest, because Andrew told once in a tutorial video that C4D was the best of all 3d app to use with after effect.

Not meaning to add to Eugene’s griping and soapbox ravings…it’s more of a request really. I wish you would use Blender more for 3D tuts. Not everybody can afford 3D Studio Max or Cinema 4D or Maya. Blender is free and according to most, works the same as the rest.

I think this effect will be somthing got to do with the Dragon plugin, where sam get tired of the car not starting so he transform to a baby dragon and burn the car.

That fight scene was in a different city, though that one is the same one as the Action Essentials 2 training where the roof is collapsing on Sam.
Maybe some matrix transformation? Sam turns to some agent… or maybe some 3d mesh in the cars surface… it’s killing me

Kool! How you get away with parking garages still bewilders me. It would take me months of red tape and saving up money to go through, to get permission to film in one.

I think i can speak for alot of people when i say that we are not trying to just copy everything he does and take it for ourselves. with almost every tutorial, i watch what the final result is and try to create it myself. if i cant create it, i watch the tutorial and if i can, then i wont. One of these things, for me at least, is blowing up a car, ive looked on youtube at what others have tried to do on after effects and none have really been succesful and niether have i. im just know that andrew gives us new insight and innovation as to how to do this and other special effects effectively.
im not attacking Handel or anyone else in this message. they actually make valid points because some of the people that come to this site probably do just copy it and take it for themselves but i think that most of us do just come here to learn and the peolpe asking for more are the people that are excited to learn new effects and new techniques with after effects.

Hey Video Copilot, ur mysterious ways just gave me a nice little idea, since andrew has so much fun hurting sam, LOL, why dont we all get into it … video copilot shoots sum footage of sam, anything u guys decide to do, then we the amateur vid editors and graphics designers take a crack at doing sumthing with the footage, andrew judges and whoever comes out best get sum kinda credit or a badge or sumthing, am sure u guys would get alot of cool videos from around the world

I would love it if you use a more common Cam like the 7d, 5d, or maybe the ex1… cause the most in here are freelancers and indie filmer… we often use this cheap cameras and get great results with it! I think if you use one of these… its more VideoCopilot like! You make it possible that we can produce great Stuff with a small budget!

the effect is probably the enitre scene and sam – standing in front of a greenscreen – the only actual footage being used, lol :S
or be real, something with the windshield … looks too good to be real. read as: looking a bit artificial, but good and probably better than a real one (that you probably wouldn’t see anyways)
wow, i used the word probably (including this time) 4 times, but it sure feels like 100
emm, a short guess? Some spooky creature is coming on the reflection of the windshield (so actually in front of the car). Sam scares himself screams and everything turns black. Ofcourse with some dramatic sound of pro scores. either that or you’re gonna use the new optical flares to make some headlights

Its going to be a fight scene, the car will transform into a massive robot and then Sam will hit it with his super powers, laser eyes and super strength, I really thing Sam will come out on top this time. Can’t wait.

Hello Andrew, I have been a fan of yours since for the last year now and I can’t wait until your film comes out because you guys have some good work that shouldn’t only be seen in tutorials, but your tutorials really help me out a lot and they are making me better at visual effects.
{hope (not begging) it will be one of these three:}
{1)a small plane crashes through the wall of the garage} {revealing a giant hole where sam stands in front of} {revealing a destroyed city.}
{2)a car comes screeching through and parks professionally} {next to sam.}
{3)sam presses a button in his car that transforms the} {wheels into small rockets propelling him out the garage at} {high speed(creating light with opticla flares)}
can’t wait to see it!
