Gkaster just posted a very inspirational spot using Cinema 4D, After Effects and our own Optical Flares Plug-in. Great work with close attention to the little details… who knows, maybe we can convince him to give us a little breakdown of some of the creative work.

3D MODELS

im gonna have to get c4d
It’s great to see real-life examples!
Excellent work, great overall “golden glow” finish!
Yeah, a breakdown of that would be really interesting to see!
Very well done!
Yeah man I told you this was hot. plus the flare at the start. First thing came to mind was Optical Flares baby. It has so much more depth than knoll light factory.
Kevin
do u really talk like that? ok I take that back – its seems everyone on this forum talks like that
n1ce one!
btw , Andrew, i see you always use 3ds max and cinema 4d and talk about them. I cant understand why, cuse Maya is so… usefull and handy to use. I started with max , then my friend gived me Maya. I cant get back to max
Maybe here is a secret ( for example : max have better render features in Vray) ?
Thanks!
That was freaking sweet!
Cool, great work! I love optical flares, i use it in a music video im working on at the moment!
Very nice. I’m glad he didn’t overuse Lens Flares like some people tend to do.
Awesome spot! I like it and great use of Optical Flares.
Berakdown will be interesting to see.
Very nice subtle use of Optical Flares.
maybe who can create tutorial about adverts something like this in c4d ? or ad something like energy drinks
Cool stuff.
Andrew, I know stuff like that is possible in Blender. Would you recommend “The Bullet” to people wanting to try to do similar work? Like, does it teach stuff at that level?
Looks great, could use some more motion blur to smooth it out and make it feel more glamorous/realistic, but otherwise inspirational work indeed
This is one reason cinema 4D costs so much…it makes things as beautiful as this….with the help of optical flares of course….giving it the polished perfection it deserves.
Amazing! Looks very inspirational…
Nice golden glows dude.
Haa Yes..This is what I wanted to see Andrew.
I’m happy for Video Copilot.
I was waiting for other professionals to use OF.Just to see the results.
In the hands of real artist, this is the kind look
C4D is the Best. Been using it for 9 years now! Love it!
Easy to use, excellent quality, and fulled with so many goodies!
Andrew,
I have a request. Can you do more C4D and AE integration tutorials, those two can be powerful when used together.
I would like to see more tutorials on these two programs.
Thanks! Keep up the great work!
that really was awesome, I’m very impressed, more C4D tuts please Andrew!
yo that was gangsta
If you want C4d Tuts head over Greyscalegorilla.com. He’s more of a cinema 4d guy.
Andrew is more along the lines of 3ds ma, but there is always time to convert you. ha
Great Andrew
Niceeee Andrew, Optical Flares Rulez! and so the Sure Target plug-in really awesome, powerfull and easy to use, thnks man!!!!
By the way, maybe it would be a good idea make a tutorial dvd about superpowers or some like that, maybe not xD, but a tutorial about how to make a COOL slideshow using just SureTarget, like this one…
http://www.youtube.com/chiquitapeluda2
I did it for a friend to give it to his girlfriend(Feb14)…
thanks again man!
I saw this dude’s demo reel a while back and felt a need to track him down and steal his brain so that I could put it in my head.
Demo is not bad!
Gkaster does excellent work. Should check out the demo reel. It would be great to get breakdowns or the ‘how to’ from some of his work.
great video, tnx AK
Whoa, great work, very creative and lifelike.
Wow, this guy’s work is incredible!
Might have to contact him sometime
Thanks for the post andrew, and i reckon you have something exciting just about on the way!
Sweet! Already have OF… now I want Age Perfect!!

Seeing this makes me realize…more and more that i really need to practice more and more.
Hi and thank you all.. alos thanks to Andrew for that incredible plugin … it helps a lot to give a real aspect and natural feelings to 3D movies…
I like Andrew Kremer his work much more !!!
I hope he sends me a free copy of Optical Flares someday because he is KING AFTER EFFETCS….and he got plenty copys laying around…and you can only play with one copy at the time…so why need a bunch right? (geez i am in a lame mood this morning(-:

I had a question about the Forum optical flare promo, someone can help me with the presentation of the product? is an example similar to Loreal but made by Andrew Kramer …. and I fail to meet such a thing ….
http://www.videocopilot.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=32069
Beautiful! I love GKASTER’S work…
I used Optical Flares a lot in the leaders & graphics for the official Dutch Super Bowl Party: http://vimeo.com/9331503
Would have been a whole different story without OF!
i could use that product too
hey andrew,
you wouldn´t believe how many TV channels here in Austria and Germany use your products and tutorials, I even saw a clip where those “creatives” just downloaded the project file “ancient title” and replaced the text…
greetings from austria
Paul
“I have a request. Can you do more C4D and AE integration tutorials, those two can be powerful when used together.”
You barely need tutorials, just look up multipass rendering and C4D integrates with AE so well that its basically fire and forget.
heidewitzka… that looks beautyful!!! You have to know that optical Flares, Cinema 4D and AfterEffects work perfect together! You make the scene in Cinema 4D then Export the Szene to AfterEffects (yes with everything) then you click on optical flares, take the 3d track light and voila! You cant imagine how beautyful it looks… i dont regret to buy this plug-in at all… (sorry for bad gramma) As a Matter of Fact I LOVE IT!!!
the idea of not having optical flares on a dvd throw me off. I realy would like to have the dvds so lets us know if thats possible.
Great work. Was this a spec spot or actually for L’oreal? Seemed weird that there was no VO.
Incredible work! I need to step my game up
Wow. Just wow. Excellent work.
What is better Cinema 4d or 3Ds MAX
GREAT I WANT TO LEARN IT ANDREW, COULD YOU MAKE A SIMILAR TUTORIAL AS YOU WANT?? I DON’T CARE AS YOU MAKE IT, I WANT TO LEARN!!!!
Sick awesome! A perfect mix between C4D, AE and the Optical Flares! Though I haven’t bought Optical Flares yet
@Bane… There’s loads of similarities between the two so it’s quite hard to differentiate…. but my own preference…. Cinema4D kicks 3D Max’s ass for ease of use:-)
Unlike usual, this actually makes me want to go out and buy the product. In fact i will now!
ei Andrew you are goig to be famous in all the world!!!with your plugin
Very very nice Andrew !
wow a very amazing spot, people know your stuff, indeed
ooh OH MY, i am special, a had a feeling to came here, to this website, i was like: hmmmm i think i am gonna go to video copilot, i present there is some new cool stuff, yep, someone should make a movie about me, you know, the movie maybe call, Goran and the feelings to go Videocopilot.net!! and there a song, chan chan cha cha chan! very cool.
Dudes you all awful, you see that somebody did something cool in cinema and here we go “i have to use c4d” and later that day “hm i’ill take back maya(or whatever)” FOCUS at one software.. otherwise it’s waste of time. However excelent work i gotta to dl c4d
PPPPP *IRONY*
Cool! I got Cinema 4D Now What do I Do Make Something As Cool As That Soemone Please Make a Tut
i agree with the other guys..more cinema 4d here…i`ve been using it for like 3 years now…it`s the best..
Where is the tutorial for this? haha =D
hey Mr AE-JEDI
we want to see more blog-show, also we check every day for new post,,, don´t forget about us.
Thank you for be our AE guide
cheers…
Hi,
Some people here realy makes me laugh .
When someone post a nice video done with C4D…Oh my god I have to get C4D & anther day it’s 3DS MAX…
So let’s make it clear :
C4D, Maya, 3DS, Xsi or… They all make the same of course some are easier to use than other but they all deliver the same level of quality !
The only thing that is important is your brain & creativity !
Please stop thinking that the software does it all .
Cheers
very nice,,,,,,,,
I think that a lot of us would appreciate a tutorial on C4D
Well i think that video was mediocre.
Not bad… not good
No need to buy C4D because of it.
It can be done in MAX easily.
Nice work!!! Would love to know how they put that together.
this is nice i use 3ds max but i still have isues with exporting animation with transparent background. maybe u could have tutorial that have focus just on proces of geting a media from max with nice resolution and with transparent background.
that is my isue :S
ty.
The project like everyone other..
C4D.. Max.. Maya.. Softimage.. Blender.. Lightwave.. unimportant..
Optical flares, Tinder box LENS FLARE, Knoll light factory..
everything depends on the person..
lo maximo andrew , bueno un abrazo ,
bueno aqui pongo un link, agradeceria tus comentarios

Nice spot!
I am wondering, how this growing cells effect (0:15) work. Is it some procedural map in C4D? I am trying to do something like this in 3ds max and i will be very happy for any tips or links etc.
THNX for all Andrew
Stunning color scheme and lighting!
And yes: DO THE BREAKDOWN!!!
i feel than you are thinking in a new post. yeah, that’s true.
Wow that’s pretty cool. I wish I knew how to use 3D modeling programs. Andrew, you should make a tutorial on 3D modeling software one time
There are a lots of tutorials about 3d modeling on the inet just use head and “onkel google”
That obviously took some time, Im new to after effects and I hope one day ill do high quality work like this
Hey Andrew,
When is there going to be a new blog show? Always a pleasure to watch them. ^^
I’m pretty sure the Black Eyed Peas used Optical Flares in one of their new music videos. Prolly worth checkin out
Got the opportunity to watch one of your Optical Flares tutorial at my friend’s place. Just wondering if you knew about the ‘loop_out(‘cycle’,0)’ function (http://library.creativecow.net/articles/doszla_marek/butterfly.php). It really helps the workflow when working with looping compositions.
But you’re the AEGuru, I’m pretty sure you know all about it.
Olivier
Hey Andrew.,. first of all nice work.,. gkaster works r gr8,.,
Mentioning C4d’s usability.,. I can assure U that the same result or more than that can be produced by 3dsmax., Its upto ur skill level on softwares.,.
Hey Andrew gkaster works fine
That was pretty neat. I’d like to know how he did that.
Hey ! This ad as just been made in a French Post-Production company where I’m workin’
Check out our stuff ^^
http://www.wizz.fr
BTW Andrew, you make an amazing job, thank you for all your great work
Hey Andrew,
Found this video at Vimeo that uses the optical flares rather subtly but to magnificent effect.
http://vimeo.com/9639184
It’s not my video nor do I know the guy who made it, just thought it was a great example of the different uses for the plug in.
@hibernator
its no big deal, you only need to set the rendering to an image type which supports transparency, like PNG or PSD layered. JPEG (.jpg) does not work here.
*and also, i don’t know about MAX, but in Maya you need to check “z depth”. you should see it in the rendering settings.
I’m sorry, i was actually referring to the alpha channel, obviously.
Wow, that is great!
The only thing its missing is the “Because you’re worth it” that Loreal always uses.
Hi andrew. i think i have spotted optical flares in justin bieber – baby music video. it’s alot of lens flare, but i dont know if they are yours. check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kffacxfA7G4&feature=fvst
Nice work in did…
once i get my hands on optical flares, god have mercy!
lol
People have commented about cinema 3d , Max , Maya etc. What I would say is this -it is not the tool but how you use it that ultimately matters. Many of us would have owned AE for a long time , but how many can use it as well as Andrew? The point is use the tool that you have!
Why don’t you sell that ad to Loreal?
