This is more exciting then opening up xmas presents.

I really wanna know how to make that light effect with the energy drink can, from back lighting to the white. And also the Video Co-Pilot back lighting with the wall of lights behind it. Are these tutorials?

I wanna be the first in Holland to have it and use it in the corporate video I'm working on that's due tomorrow.

I'm buying the pack with the pro presets!

I really hate it that in Holland we're 8 hours further into the future then the US. That's means we have to wait till 17:00 today (5PM) for Optical Flares! Like many have said before me: It's like waiting for Christmas, the only difference is that waiting for OF is ten times better!

i wait, and wait ;)
January 25th, 2010 @ 5:37 am
This Eclipse is exactly what I was going to do first with plugin :-) so is everyone else I'm sure.

I hope OF is a hit.Looks like an awesome tool.

One thing that that I hope is that, Anamorphic effects is not the only look users will have for this.

I already have my mind set to try not to over use the look.As I'm sure most people will go for that look right of the bat.

January 25th, 2010 @ 6:16 am
finally, something worth waiting for -- thanks Andrew for creating an industry-changing product we can all collectively get excited about... good idea re launch marketing w/blog for social proof/energy (I'm a veteran 'net marketer), nice to see product launches being done for something really, genuinely worth getting like this is. credit card in hand, waiting to order.. :)

January 25th, 2010 @ 6:18 am
I'm buying this.

I was screwing around trying to find the download page on the site and found http://www.videocopilot.net/purchase/opticalflares . I got really excited but, when I clicked the purchase thing, it said "opticalflares unavailable". So, I went to google and found it already available on Toolfarm. I wanted to get it here, though, so I'm still waiting.

I can't wait until I get home.
January 25th, 2010 @ 6:59 am
Still waiting for the promo video. :D
January 25th, 2010 @ 6:59 am
An absolutely superb solution for use in 3D renderings (like from 3DS Max). I truly cannot imagine a plug-in that provides more pop-potential than this one!
January 25th, 2010 @ 7:26 am
How much MB/GB does the Plug-in have?

January 25th, 2010 @ 9:24 am
Don't cut the line guys I was waiting here with my sleeping bag to be the first to purchase this revolutionary plugin. I feel like a senior citizen in the supermarket at 4:30 waiting for the employee to put the 50% off sticker on the product. This is the best damn deal one can get! And I'm getting the pro pack and so should you ! Are sunglasses required using this plugin ? I forgot to ask.
January 25th, 2010 @ 9:33 am
Q: I wanna be able to use my own texture for adding imperfections to the flares, optical flares supports that, but how do I photograph real lens surfaces? Or better, How did you guys do it?

12 input HD textures is GREAT, but say if I wanna be even more creative...
January 25th, 2010 @ 9:38 am
Yo ShoeToad,
There is actually a hidden feature in Optical Flares... sort of. The textures (PNG files) are actually in a folder outside of the plug-in and you can add as many as you want or use a layer in your project as a custom texture.
james reid
January 25th, 2010 @ 9:57 am
andrew push the button already
January 25th, 2010 @ 9:58 am
That works well with reflections in (car)windows.
Some of the textures make me think of an officer shining his flashlight into a car window. Not that I've been pulled over a lot or anything. ahum..
ken c
January 25th, 2010 @ 10:00 am
lol re flashlight/windows... cool re custom textures, I'll try pioneering "grunge texture" flares in my vfx projects. along w/glassy textures
Tim Callahan
January 25th, 2010 @ 10:02 am
