Nice Episode!

Love OLF!

Lovely stuff!

I’m excited. I’m pretty sure Optical Flares will be a good plugin.

Hi,

WOW I cannot wait for the lens flare gizmo.

great Vodcast? look foward to more.

Stay cool and much big love to you and your family.

HAPPY XMAS/HALLOWEEN

Yeah, 18 min is a bit long… Kind of hard to squeeze in during lunch at work :/

But hey, it is still worth sitting through the rambling to pick up a jem every now and then ;)

Thanks!

Also I was an eagle scout and I write here and I would congratulate for the work that you and your staff do…

p.s. sorry for any grammar mistakes

WOW!!! Cool. I love this stuff

that was awesome ;)

It’s really cool!

And your interface is really cool.

Nice Episode!

Love OLF!

I can’t wait for this to come out

did you say the sponsor was coke?

I don’t think they’d be very happy about the pepsi at the end haha

Thanx a lot
interesting plugin

Great format. Looking forward to the new product.

I’m in lens flare heaven, I pity the fool who spent so much dough on knoll light factory.

The 4:3 guide…oh no you didn’t!

by electrikFrenzy

I think this video really demonstrates the value of the Optical Flares plug in. At $140 I was a little skeptical but after seeing that interface, it blows Knoll Light Factory out of the water! KLF looks like a piece of crap compared to your interface. Not to mention I see many many more customization features. Can’t wait to buy it!

Very nice
Thanks Andrew
Great job
Greetings from gaza

Great videocast,

I can connect with your humour and you know what you’re talkin about, Love it.

Love these blog cast’s

Nice Nice. seems to delevop to an interesting thing. Ever thought about doing a tutorial or “Video Blog”-entry live? That would be nice, wouldn’t it?

greets from Germany
melle

dude… you need to charge more for Optical Lens flares! That is amazing.

One of the best plug-ins I have ever seen, with a very low price. Making a promo like the AccionEssentialsPromo would be a piece of cake with OLV. Good job on the interface too!

Plugin looks great, and thanks for the quick tip on cloning and that I really like the “bite size” tips.

Optical Flares looks great, I knoll light factory though so I am not sure if that would be flare overkill.

But I love the look of the interface and feel of it all. you guys make great products.

it’s absolutely incredible!!!
is coca-cola your sponsor or it’s only a joke? :-/

Hey what’s up andrew!!
Man, i’m a very fan of your work, amazing!!!!im trying to do something like, to provide knowledge here (Brazil) to people who wants to learn this amazing tool. im a two weeks user and trying to go very far. if you can take a look at my teaser.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sf7aGnNrpk

once more congrats!!!!!!!

Absolutely stunning! I am very impressed. I used to use FX Home Visionlab Studios which allowed you to create semi-realistic optic flares of your own, but this is far beyond that and definitely worth the money. Fantastic guys!

Nice fight tutorial too.

I didnt see anything.
for real!!!

its great see you, but i think that you must do a Joke Show some thing like “everybody loves andrew” hahahaha im´just kidding, great blog and excelent products in this moment my wife is pregnant but after all i try to saving some money to buy the action essential 2″,

tanks for every thing i learn soo much here

god bless you and go on!!!

That was Brilliant :)

is nice the new format by the way

Hey Andrew! Awesome update, you really helped me a lot with the fight enhancement and…wow!what a beautyfull Optical Lens Flare Interface!I will buy it!!!

I like the bear part that was good.

Oh my god… u should be working for the foundry or something, i’m just amazed, john knoll will be impressed!

hahahah in the end!

Hail to you Andrew! Awesome suff, as usual.
One critic: no lightbox please!

Fantastic! The Blog show is really kicking off now, and I loved the insights to the new tutorials and product. It looks amazing!
Love the ending aswel: sponsered by Coca-Cola….that’s why Andrew opened a can of Pepsi….?!
Nice One

Impressive!!!
Optical Flares looks great

I think you take the wrong can XD

!!! Awesome !!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Thanks Andrew ,, Thanks video copilot

Looked like Pepsi – not coke.

But that plugin is sick! There aren’t many (or any) plugins for ANY other program or any other subject that are this well made. User friendly and high quality results – just Awesome!

dude now I know the Optical Flares is totally worth it!

Optical Lens Flare is going to change the AE world.

lol that was a pepsi at the end

nice Awesome update

Thank you this. Great to see you again !

Love it … it’s a bargain for $140. Can’t wait to get it.

Jarmo Pohjaniemi

Great video! I’m now looking forward to Opitcal Flares. Loved the pepsi at the end, btw.

Totally awesome. Makes knoll light factory seem old. Like those old apple computers with the floppy disks old.

Dude Totally excited about optical flares….i cant wait to buy its totally worth $140….Hey the Pepsi at the end LOL that was hilarious!!!!

Keep Rambling too i always love to hear what you gonna come up with next…

MUCH LOVE to you Andrew, your family, the VCP Team….Thanks for your hard work and effort… Im A video Producer and You definitely make my life easier..

Thanks Jay

MORE RAMBLING PLEASE! That was incredible. $140 is definitely cheap for such a robust plugin. And, wait a second, that was a Pepsi you were drinking, shame on you Andrew for turning your back on Mountain Dew. ;) :D

Great news everybody! Knoll Light Factory Pro is on sale for only $279.30!

Jesus H. Christ will will you guys keep it down, the guys over at Red Giant are going to catch wind of this and be quite Sad that Andrew Kramer the tutorial guy just made a plug-in thats better than theirs. LOL

JK i still use KLF, but i might just buy this because the lens flares look much cooler.

Awesome :) . Totally blown away by the interface, that’s looking great.
Will Optical Flares also be available for mac?

ha ha, love the twitch plug that you added in the beginning… can’t wait for the product to release. And love the “ground breaking” intro Thanks for all that you do and for inspiring us all. Take care, and God bless.

Coca-Cola… hehe ;-) wow, that plugin… cant wait to see more of it! Thank you for this cool vid.!

Hey Andrew!

This new videoblog is much better in sd-resolution!

Have to say that the bear joke wasn’t that funny. It is also nice to notice that you edit out most of those random mumblings.

But anyway. UI of that optical flare -plugin looked brilliant. I was really astonished! Let me say, this product is going to be real hit! It shows up amazing programming skills that you guys have. It is ingenious how someone can make the most used effect of the 90’s look still interesting and cool!

Have you code some of it by your self or do you have some specialist for that job? How much of the interface has your own design? Did you create the layout, buttons and all that and then someone then coded it? or how was it done?

What a preview! Can’t wait the final product!

Good job!

Lol I just posted a comment and it told me to say something “useful”… neway I definitely like the show… hope coke doesn’t come after u for that tho !!

Love the ending!!

nice one ak…you said coke ..and end pepsi…..nice

Slickness. I was going to make my own lens flair from the “Lens Flaire 2000″ kit they sell at CostCo. But you need a really long extension cord, and you have to be there in person to turn the light on in the background, and move around the room holding the lamp, as every client views the effect. So on the one hand it is cheap, but then you gotta figure in your time and the extension cord. I gotta say this is way a head of the “Lens Flaire 2000″ When would I be able to get me some o this?

hahaha at the end with a Pepsi…

Now, I’m convinced to buy Optical Flares …
I’m not kidding … ;)

Master Jedi Kramer I am having an argument with a friend about your tools of the trade. I think you use a Mouse and are just really good at it and He feels like you use a Cintiq. Could you settle our dispute?

wow wow… What a difference from the last blogs, this one makes sense to me. Thanks for structuring the whole thing so it feels professional! Timewise i think you made the right choice, blog/show. And 18 minutes felt good also. Anyway It all felt right.

And the lens flare plugin is the bomb. Can’t wait to mess around with that. Quick question, will there be a demo version?

Good question about the Mac and if it will be available in OSX. But seriously…Optical Flares looks so exciting. I can’t wait to get it (for Mac).

Wow, Andrew! Cool stuff, man! I can’t wait to see more about Optical Flares… I really looks sweet…

By the way, very good ending… ;)

Greetings from Argentina.

Best episode so far! The plug-in looks AWESOME! The interface looks slick, fancy and above all EASY TO USE, with presets with gigantic image’s so you dont have to click and see what they look like, you’ll instantly see how they look! VERY NICE and the fancy animations, it’s nice, but maybe on REALLY BIG projects you might want to add a turn off switch for them so it goes a bit faster ;)

PEPSI!!!! hahaha

Great Show!
Always funny, Always Impressive!

Wow, now I see that Optical Flares really worth the price! And actually, it’s even cheap! Great work!

When I knew that optical lens flare will come out, it didn’t interest me. But NOW!
Yes I Want To Buy It!!!
And Coca Cola Support?! WOW!

Thats F en AMAZING!!!!!

Coca ~ Cola sent me an email to cease watching all VC content. All kidding aside. I told my wife (AKA Mrs Klaus)to get Me the Lens-flare Plugin for Christmas, if Im a good Husband of course. Otherwise give me the money in the amount of what it costs to purchase the plugin.

IM IN BOYCSOUTS
i have archery too lol
yaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Suggestion: put the little banner competition inside these clips!

Great stuff B)

by Radio Controlled

love the interface andrew, i konw how difficult it is to get an oparational interface for anythig that actuly works,
i have always tryed to avoid lens flares , but this is very interesting.. i realy do think its time to try and better ‘your friend and mine plug in’ ,,,, Particular, i dont know if this would be posable, but it would rather neat.

VpeaceV

n1 andrew …..i like this show :)

A Nobels Peace Price in VFX for you and your crew!

Dude that interface is sick! i was wondering why it was $150, but after that… well worth it :)

CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO RELEASE OPTICAL FLARES!!!

Really Amazing. That little snipit on the fight sequence piece will really help sell a few shots from the movie I’ve been working on for 3 years. Cheers Andrew! Thanks!

Seriously, seriously great plugin!

One thing I was wondering, how are you going about ‘making’ those flares in the first place? Did you start by building a collection of flares from the ground-up inside of aftereffects using coloured solids and feathered masks? Or is it all handled ‘in code’?

Wow! Blog tutorials! Something new! Cool U’ve found a sponsor, hope U will be a great video empire!

“Not very good!” :)

The Red giant products are rubbish compared to this videocopilot plug-in.

Great show! i love the new format and cant wait for the next one. it would be awesome if you made some short skits or something to throw in there for fun to show off some of your skills, like the mini movie you created for The Meteor tutorial series (not that we dont already know your VFX skills are amazing). anyways OLF looks even better than i imagined, love the interface! and the coca cola sponsor/pepsi joke was great :)

You’re right. The time did fly.
And oh, just like the Ancient Titles the pepsi comes in when Coca-Cola’s in the light. Genius…

Stop telling me about this Plug-In, sell it to me… ;-)
Just Kidding. Love the Lens Flare Studio. Maybe you can give us more information about that on in a later show?

Awesome job guys, looking forward to purchasing another great product. Loved the pepsi at the end, perfect AK humor.

nice interface.
and nice hair:D:D:D

It just keeps getting better and better. I love your sense of humor. Thanks coca cola!
Congrats on the new plugin. Looks fantastic.

Andrew, it took a lot of work to put this show together, thank you. I listened to your video blog while working on AE, so I have no problem with 15+ minutes show. I like long video blog.

In future, I hope you will find time to produce audio podcast on Visual Effects and Movie Effects.

Thanks Andrew.

by RealLifePudding

you have to say:”welcome to another AWESOME blog video show”.
you have to stay real!!!

I started to think it’s cheap at $140! Awesome work.

Greetings from ROMANIA…you’re the best Andrew! Awesome pulg-in!And also the bars….and the numeric preset cool!

What can I say… Video Copilot/plugins/tutorials never cease to amaze me ;)

Andrew & Staff:
I would just like to say that I am glad to see how far you have come since Creative Cow. I have only been watching this site for a year, but I am absolutely in love with the visual techniques. Keep up the great work!

I am looking forward to buying my first product in the weeks to come!

Thank you!

A.R. Herrington

It’s PEPSICOLA! anyway im a boyscout to, nice to see you where one

LMAO….dude love the Pepsi can at the end…

Optical Flares looks amazing can’t wait! all in all it’s good to be seeing even more of you though I must admit that sharp increase in robot malfunctions are very troubling

Well now im kind of sorry i said the plug-in was expensive. It is totally not!
Being able to create your own lens flare is so fantastic, and so new!!

You amaze me everytime Andrew!
By the way, money from me is comming when time is in!!!

“Coca cola is the sponsor” he said with a grin. Then he casually opens a pepsi ;)

Holly crap!!! The plug-in is insane… I can’t believe it’s so top notch on a small price. U R the man!!!

Dam i want coce now :/

I can’t wait for this plug in. Just finished up a music video that would definitely look amazing with those trigger lens flares tracked into some of the shots. When are we going to be seeing a release Andrew? Hopefully soon, I’ll buy it right away!

Lens Flares looks amazing!

I was truly flabbergasted :D

by Anthony Coffee

you should make a tut using a coke can and optical flares and sam

Hilarious!

Andrew, when will we see more of your latest short with Sam beating up that guy?

Thanks,
George

Haha you made me laugh with that Pepsi one.
Seriously, good job with the plugin.

Hey Andrew, nice job with the show. Really liked the shirt with the epaulettes (shoulder loops – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epaulette). Keep the great work coming!

-From an Eagle Scout of Troop 870, Ellport, Pennsylvania.

Okay… there are TWO opportunities:
1. Andrew is god!
2. Andrew has a very good rapport with god xD

Dont’ have time to watch this :(

Love this page.. There´s no other page that contributes with such high educational videofxs tutorials and sets.. if there is, then tell me!

Great entertainment! OLF looks like a nobrainer to me…

LOL the new plug-in explains all those lens flares in star trek…

by Justin Koppstein

Andrew, you need to make a tutorial for that intro were the group breaks up. Looks AHMAZING!!

I hope you consider that for a tutorial soon! That would make my day.

Nice video too
-Justin

Well the new format works for me… good to get an inside track on what’s going on in VCP, get some quick tips & tricks – AND have a giggle.

Keep it up, bud :-)

man i want a coca cola sponsor too :P and a pizza one

Michael Bay is going to go nuts over this plugin.
He loves his lens flares.

by Olympia Logger

Cool!

So…
… how many times a night are you getting up now?

Hey, I’m a boy scout!
I love hearing the updates about Copilot, and what’s coming soon.

Are you seriously sponsored by Coca Cola, or is that another joke??

-From a Boy Scout in San Luis Obispo, Troop 308.

by Timothy Cross

brother…where is the dew? :)

optical flare plugin. best i’ve ever seen.

haahahaha, terrific.

Just a question MR. KMR, Does Optical flares plug-in work on PC and Mac?

Is it me or did he just pop open a pepsi can! Anyone?

Haha, my wife dropped our baby when she saw the Pepsi :) not really but a very great show today, I think this was much needed after a lot of criticism due to the last post on optical flares in which I regress my last post, I know that I am coming around after seeing what optical flares can do and how professional of a job you are doing on the user interface as well as the end product. In the end if you can sell people on how great it is I don’t see my boss not approving purchases such as these. Okay I am rambling too now, good show!

THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR TUTORIALS. THEY RELY HELPED ME OUT A LOT. :)

Nice!!

I’m an Eagle Scout, lol and i just got my cinematography merit badge (finally). I appreciate the uniform. haha
I love the show!

- Blake

by Nicolas Chapleau

So, are you adopting that new iFrame format now? I was kinda disapointed to see yet another format pop up BUT if you say it’s worthwhile, then it is. Just curious to have your views on it.

Nice work AK,

Nic.

hahaha the pepsi

How about calling the video show the Video Copilot “Mission Briefing”, to stay in theme with the whole “copilot” thing? Just an idea.

Thanks for all you add to the community!

Very cool the Intro men…
Very good!!!

Hehehe, nice work there mate ;)

by Timothy Santana

I’m soooooo getting “Optical Lens Flare” when it comes out!

And the AE TUTORIAL was awesome!

Haha nice! Don’t be expecting anything from coke now lol

Love the coca cola (pepsi) Plug. lol! Awsome. Can’t wait for the flares.

Great episode! I like that it’s a little bit of everything quick tips, mini tutorials, updates, rambling. I don’t mind the length(that means more content!)
Thank you so much Andrew and Staff for creating such a great website for us. Along with the full length tutorials, great products and the other miscellaneous things on the blog, this site has become THE go to place for After Effects users. You have taught me so much in the 30+ tutorials I’ve watched here and I am very appreciative. Keep up the good work.

Holy Sith! This plug-in will be asskickingly awesome!!!!

Crap Kramer, I really wasn’t planning on spending $140 dollars on a new preset, but you make it impossible not too. That interface was ridiculous, and now I totally see now how your practically giving it away for that price. Unfortunatly I will be buying it:)

Did anyone else notice that the save name of his graph project was named giraffes? lol

Awesome!!!! How did you make that plugin??

OMG ROFL!!! Dude, that bears bit… CRACKED ME UP!!

andrew it’s great to learn new things from you every day mate…i have got to say you have shown me the whole new world in a design aspect….i really respect you mate…keep up the fantastic work man….
regards

Excellent show man. This plug-in looks incredible. You really do a great job with this stuff. Can’t wait to see more!!

Kramer you big tease, makin my credit card finger itchy you are.

how much will this cost?

Andrew, you guys should code your “own” after effects and i promise you gonna pwn adobe :-)

Kramer.. u’re always appreciated.

by Peter Somers (TC-Productions)

I think KNOLL is shaking in their little space boots, after seeing your flare plugin!
It looks absolutely amazing!

Credit card in hand, waiting for shipping date!!

Haha, loved that subliminal Twitch ad there :D
I can’t wait to see all the stuff you can do with optical flares

Nice one with the sponsor Andrew :)

You’re not related to the Jigsaw Killer in the Saw movies are you? His surname is Kramer too… hmmm

hello there mr KMR … is It work with mac ?

Very nice
Thanks Andrew
Great job
Greetings from Pakistan

Another great video – Optical Flares looks like a great product! Ive read all of the comments on this page so far, and Im suprised nobody picked up on the Predator 2 Gary Busey line in the title!

Keep up the good work!

All the best.

Dude, That Was Sooo Cool!
Can’t wait for the actual plugin! :D

HAve a nice drink.

HAHA

Andrew i think you and your team made the first lens flare plug in where you can make a ”matte” for lens flares to realistic hide behind objects. a flare will also become smaller when its behind a human or an object. and from what i know no plug does this.
i was afraid that this one wouldnt have this. so it was a big suprise. i think you and you r team worked so hard on this that you have no idea how good it looks. i am serious here.

i used the lens flares from sapphire. but they dont have the ”foreground” function.

Great video, awesome plug in, I like the intro at the first, really cool :) , your products are awesome really
I mean it, keep it up.

COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew you are the best !!!!!!

Great vid Andrew.I dont know why but i have this un-controlable urge to buy the twitch plugin,Hey $45 that Great.

@ Ryan: easy, just 50.000 lines of code

Btw, this is the end for Knoll Light Factory

Hi Kramer I am new to after effects and I really like your work and your tutorials which have helped me a lot.
Could you come up with a tutorial on how to create glass slides like the ones in one of your project files

Andrew,
Thank you, you ‘re great at what you do.

:D :D:D Entry has been updated, right? Now we can see you in full sreen. I really prefer the small size one. Please change it or remember for the next time

BTW: The interface looks really great. Similar to the one in AE CS4. Your team has done an awesome job on this.

melle (Germany)

What?? Your sponsor is Coca Cola and you are drinking Pepsi?? LOL

I like the ending lol Pepsi

You the man KRAMER!!!

hi andrew, i think the show is a great idea and concept, have you heard of the website revison3, i really think you could increase your viewership if you had your own show on rev3. it would be awesome.

anyway i will be buying Opitical lense for sure

The Optical Flares are really cool!!!
And your “show” is getting better…

INCREDIBLE !!!
Very Nice !

Here from Algeria

lol

I am so stoked on your new plugin. Good Bye Knoll Light Factory, hello Optical Flares. You guys are frickin great, that plugin looks boss for lens flares.

After having seen this I seriously think the plug in is underpriced.
I wonder, how long did it take your programmers to write it?

I just can’t bear this new format.

Andrew you are the best, Thanks Coca-Cola and open a Pepsi ;-)

I love you
Dana

This is really good !

Regards,
Norway

MOVE ON.

AND THX FOR THE GREAT TUTORIAL SUBMERGED!!!!!!

another cool stuff!
you are the best AK!

Video Copilot for life!

Wow, the Optical Flares plugin looks beautiful – both the resulting flares, and the interface! I think you’ve just set a new benchmark for plugin interfaces!

Excellent work Andrew & team – look forward to buying & using it!

Phil

Awsome video as always. Just one question, will Optical flares work on Macs or on just PCs?

I had a feeling your sarcastic humor would be lost on the world audience…but I get it! That’s because we are a bunch of smart arses on this side of the coast (East). lol Coke sponser….Pepsi product…you are too funny! The video blog is going well. That plug-in looks very professional, wow you have been busy!
Keep up the good work and come back and visit us at AENY next spring.

Would be cool if you could make some punch sound FX!

Mby Action Sound FX could make a nice product ;)

I was wondering about the mic and the “pop” filter. So I check on B&H and I found some similar looking hardware. The mic is a Neumann and the “pop” filter is “Blue The pop” filter.

Here the links:
Mic: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/598254-REG/Neumann_TLM_103_D_TLM_103D_Digital_Large_Diaphragm.html

@Andrew, is it right?

That bare bear story had me laughing! And I wasn’t sure at the end with the sponsorship until you popped the can, AWESOME!

Hope we see you next time!

Greetings from Germany

Awesome work!!!
Hope the lens effects interface is working on mac too

i have a question…

After watching the video in this post, I noticed that the “pop out” window was a Windows version (since you work primarily in Windows).

I would assume it does, but does the “Options” tab with the interface also work for Macs as well?

Thanks!

Man, that lens flare plugin looks sweet!

Very nice, Andrew……………………………….Very nice.

Optical Flares—Kudos! Giving us an interface like this really shows forward thinking and I’m thinking this will set a new standard for creating plug-ins for AE.

Keep it up man!

Keep it up…

Keep it up and you’ll end as a president. XD

Great video, great tips, AWESOME plugin (I’d buy it for $300, I swear) and some great jokes. The Pepsi end really got me, hahahaha.

I think that with a so robust interface and detailed editing parameters, we can create all sort of effects, not only attached to lens flare, right? This is really something.

THANKS FROM BRASIL!!! (Come visit for the Olympic Games. :D )

Amazing it just gets better and the introduction is also amazing cant wait for the next tutorial :D

hey men that was just out of this world amazing. believe me this looks way better than Knoll Light Factory. Andrew you are on inspiration to us all.

Very nice episode……..love your jokes (the last one with coca cola was very funny)

Keep up the good work…..I love your site.

Dude love the new tutorials coming up and loving the new Lens Flare. Can’t wait till i get a hold of my own copy of this stuff man.

Andrew is the one…
ANDREW FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!

The coke-pepsi thing was fun… Have you thought about stand up comedi?… Would be fun

Come to BRAZIL to the olimpics or the world cup.

you crack me up andrew. you are definitely the man with a plan. thanks for all you do. you inspire me.

Very nice AK. I’m super impressed. I know you hear it all the time but, wow VC rocks and is absolutely the best. Your pricing, all the free tips and of course your great sense of humor. Loving the VCshow. I see where people have said certain things and Wow the ungrateful, complaining, childishness that goes on is inexcusable!…Keep up such terrific work and thanks again.

Men you’r awsome, I didn’t was thinking “whoooww, optical flares!” but you people at VC did a very good job!

I was looking on YouTube and then i saw many video promotion from here “VideoCopilot” made by Andrew.I was pissed off because they don’t have the right to use that videos a their creations…My question is:
Have you ever think to make a genuine VideoCopilot account on YouTube??

I love Video Copilot!!

:) ) worth watching to the end

Nice Episode !

One Question : Will it work in Eyeon Fusion ?
because many third party AE plugins are compatible with fusion.

hey andrew,
maybe its possible to make a short max tut on how you did the ground breaking intro…!?would be nice.or some short tips in the next videocopilot show…

sauerkraut-greetings from germany

Optical Flares….

It’s a most epoch-making plug-in since Trapcode particular!!!!!!!!!

You are genius!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I love this new format man, nice work.

I gotta say, when you first mentioned flares I was kinda like “what’s the deal, I can do those already”.. but dude, those things are COOL! A lot of work gone in to those, real good work.

Keep it up!

Love the new format. The bite size tips are a great idea, and the new plugin looks simply amazing. Also, Coke? Pepsi? Pshh, drink Mountain Dew!

Hey there,

Thanks for all your hard and helpfull work;)

by Fabiano Peres

Really nice.

I’d love a tutorial about the 3D explosion at the beginning of the video.
Is it possible?

THANKS.

this is better than most shows on TV. lol
you should get your own show…..oh you do have it :)
good stuff Andrew.

mantistic tutorial!! Thank for all the inspiration. This is one of the blogs that I check all the time.

Optical Flares looks freaking awesome!

WOW !!!!
Very Nice !!!
Thanks !

Optical flares looks rad!

$150 seems generous for something that could potentially bring someone much more $$$ in revenue/return.

I could definitely fill the room with some “Wow’s” using this.

AK and Crew,
Although I’m echoing many other comments, your flare plugin is very nice. It’s great when a software USER makes tools.
Although I have no immediate need for flares, I will pick up a copy when it’s released for my toolbox.
One question, does it support multiple obscure layers or just one?
Thanks,
Jon

LOL HILLARIOUS!!!
After saying the thing with Coca Cola I just KNEW what you are doing then :D

Keep up the good work!!! I like the video presentation!!!!

fight club huh xD does edwuard norton in there :P

now i want a soda

k dont got money, but i shall, I SHALL BUY THIS SOME HOW :( ONLY 15 with no job no credit card…

Hi Andrew, I was wondering if you have used this product in some of the examples you’ve made on the blog (eg the lens flare in the Pan and Scan post with the helicopter).

OLF is the best lensflare creator in CG history!

haha i love how u give the shout out to coca-cola and then drink a pepsi

Can’t wait to purchase this plugin! Looks awesome.

WOW! Love the new Webblog Format! I felt pretty sad when i found out the new Lens Flair Plugin was $140 & knew that i can’t afford it. I thought, Oh Well, I’m not that botherd anyway. But Seeing that now “I HAVE TO HAVE IT!” God Its Looks BRILL!!. Also Loved the PEPSI Joke TOO LMAO!! From UK.

WOW!!! This plugin is soooo much cooler and better than Knoll Lens Flares and way cheaper. Hope it’s CS3 compatible. It amazes me how the thought process went into this plugin to create such a beautiful GUI. Should be out in time for christmas i’ll leave it on my things to hint for list to my wife and kids. Nya ha ha ;)

Excellent Plug-In! Looks like it’s worth every penny and more. Great work.

Hey! Didn’t read the comments… However, since your vlog is in progressive standard definition, isn’t called enhanced definition, ED? Huh? Just wanted to clarify.

No, just kidding… ;D

In my opinion the separated interface of this plug-in is completely unnecessary, its just for marketability

This is just grand!
Awesome work.

by Hassan Al-Tarooti

WoOoOoOoOoW,,,,

your vrey vrey smart

Do you give me your mind productive two days only hahahahah

Thanks

Hassan Al-Tarooti

The Ending. Classic. Very nice. lol

Come on!… of course it’s necessary… just if you are looking for the perfection. Andrew rocks!…

Give me the Plugin after effects Cs4

Support DFusion?

Pepsi :D Love the show and hope see more.

just can’t see why one would say the bear joke isn’t funny. Probably for the same reason someone else would say the interface is unnecessary.
Anyhow…, I wish I had bear hands.

Hey Andrew!
Can you make also a tutorial in the beginning of the show when there’s was the title and the ground breaks up?
Thanks!

Nice dude, love you joke and your episodes, you guys rock with these tutorials. From California of Los angeles, where movies are made here,(which is where i live) is giving you a thumbs up, KEEP IT UP!!!!!

hi andre,im a fun to your tutorials and i must say i love them all.the last time i saw you was great.
pls andre,i have little problem of finding solution to what WIGGLE and it expressions means
i would be much appreciable if my question will meet your kindred heart
WHAT THEN IS WIGGLE

Looks great.
What about adding a feature where you can share user “flares” that users can add to your website and can also download.
Cool stuff… will purchase as soon as its ready!

the plugin looks really promising, Andrew …

you did a great thought, techniques and ideas on it … can’t think of a better way to do lenses than that :D

keep going man, you are just making this industry more enjoyable :)

that was awesome

Most interesting and also most beautiful plugin of the year.

Will users be able to make dynamic flares themselves? (anticipation…)

LMAO @ the ending XD

Have to say i just watched the latest fringe and love seeing all the effects from vc! Face distort and eye replacement this time! Keep it up!

incredible plugin, very professional, better then the most plugins out there for AE. All that for this price is a steal, anybody complaining about price has really no idea about the motion graphic business.

when are you going to do a fracture tutorial? i see it in alot of your videos. especially the fringe title

Hi Andrew!

Nice blog as for always! can you also make a tutorial on the best video encoding for the web, just like the ones here in your site? I keep on creating one but seems to be not as clear and sharp as your videos.

tnx tnx in advance!

Frederick

Now when can we learn the intro to the video? =( When the stage breaks up.. thats some cool shizznit! Was that made with action essentials 2?

Dude that was the most brilliant ending to a video I’ve seen in a while. Take that Coke.
Sweet plugin, too. You’ve put a lot of hard work and it looks like it will pay off!

Don’t stop making video blog/shows like that one, I thought it was the right length and every detail about the show seemed very informative.

It looks like you guys put a HELL of a lot of work into the interface for the Optical flares plug-in. It looks really easy to use and very sexy.

ONE THING THOUGH…. you should even mention the names of the people who help create that stuff too. Give them credit man!( i know you say video-copilot team, but i’m sure they wouldn’t mind ) I think they would appreciate it being such a beautiful product.

haha rotflmao!!!

I’m a simpleton too!

(see all above posts)

wow…the amount of work you guys put in is amazing

im a pepsi dude too…
awesome lens studio, you guys have reached new heights

Great news!!! Are you using rayfire to make the floor shatter? Or there is it another plugin? Could you do a tut? I know those are to many questions, but I would really apreciatte an answer. You Rock!

awesome show, very interesting stuff.
can’t wait until lens flares comes out.

and lol at the coca cola plug, with the pepsi at the end.

Greatest show I have watched in a long time. Funny, interesting, and I get to learn some great things.
Thanks again Mr. Kramer

I bravo’d you guys with clapping hands! Even-though there’s nobody around lol. Amazing plug-in, can’t wait to get my hands on it.

PS: The coca-cola can at the and was so obvious lol :D

grts,
robin

Love the ending buddy…. was my favorite part….lol pepsi

Lol I love the new plug in, it looks totally awesome. And at the end, i was thinking, NOOOO, not coco cola endorses this! And then you popped open the Pepsi can, and I bust out laughing so hard my stomach now hurts. And i just finished off a 2 liter of Pepsi. Thank you for making my night. :)

wow optical flares looks really great!!
especially then trigger flare :O
Though the interface seems very complex but i’m really looking forward to this!

lol @ drinking pepsi cola with coca cola as sponsor? XD

Awesome stuff – that was the Real Thing!

For some reason I feel I want to get Twitch, can’t…quite…remember…why….

Sweet!!! Can’t wait till it’s available. Meanwhile great joke at the end. I greatly enjoy your sense of humor! Never boring!

Love the show!
Great to get informed this way.

i want it naaaaaaw

I am in boy scouts

Very good show
but the question is : What is you REAL sponsor Pepsi or Coca cola :D :D:D…..?
Thanks Mr.Kramer

how do you script all of this
it seems that you are used one
of the aftereffects instructors

I hope to someday have subtitles in Spanish please

ESPERO QUE ALGUN DIA TENGAN SUBTITULOS EN ESPAÑOL LOS VIDEOS ANDREW

wow, you have made lens flares cool again.

For the past few years its been commonly accepted that “lens flares exist to make everything shitty look cool”, but thats only because people were drawing things in MS Paint and putting photoshop’s movie prime on everything.

Thanks to coke … then you open a Pepsi, classic, lol.

hello Andrew. I love your website. Im doing a movie preview for my book report. i used your submerged tut. i thought i was going to run out of ideas. My book is about a kid who finds an underground city.

by Eduardo Valadares

Very Nice! i like your work, thanks so much

by Initial Pictures

i love how you crack open a pepsi at the end, when your sponsor is coke. haha

this is nice and beautiful!

ummmmm … I saw nothing?

Haha! Loved the ending with the Coca Cola talk and then pulling up a can of Pepsi!

Anywho ..!
This looks fantastic! User friendly and I even went a little “uuuh!” when I saw you pulling the flare out of the frame.
Very excited about seeing more!

Hey Andrew. I just wanted to let you know that there are people on this site who do understand the amount of time and effort you and the VC team have put into this product as well as every single one of your products. You are an intelligent man who doesn’t plan on selling himself short, but at the same time you have no intention of trying to rip any of us off. The pricing for your products have always been and I trust will always be fair and deserving and I will always be happy to pay it in full. Thank you for doing what you do. I’m sure you get this a lot, but it’s people like you that have helped me continue pursuing my dream of becoming a film maker. -Kyle

thats very Good Mr andrew…
you know me?!
“not very Good…!”
he he he…

Hi Andrew,

i like this short tips you share with us!
these awesome vids bridge the gap between your fantastic tutorials!

thanks
mac

by Matt Whittington

Hey Andrew, love your work. Just wondering, kinda off topic, but what do you think of the television show LOST?

that Pepsi Thing was 2 great :-D

great format!

Looks like the creators of this Aussie commercial are Video Copilot fans:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGAOlrP7ne8#t=23s

Lens Flares looks amazing

Video really funny – Laughed all the way through……

For people asking if there will be a Mac version of the plug-in, there’s no doubt to have IMHO: the SDK is available on both platforms (Windows and Mac OS X), and I think the plug-in compatibility doesn’t depend on the OS, but rather on After Effects (which provides the “core” to run the thing).

Thank you Andrew, the plug-in looks awesome and I already plan to purchase it. :)

Andrew,
Very impressed with the sneak preview. That interface looks do effortlessly intuitive and calming…Reminded me of these guys: http://www.metalabdesign.com

wow men ok im waiting for Opticle Flare

hahahaha! nice ending lol!. great work.

Hi Andrew!! Awsome prewiew!! I like how you set up the lights!! cool!! i know you do after effects tutorials, but you should post a lights set up tutorial!! looks amazing!! Thanks you for all tut`s and additional stuff!! your site rocks!!

Att

Dee

Will the Lens Flare be compatible with another aspect ratio apart of 16:9 and 4:3? Sorry for english…
Nice ending, Btw…

by Secret Admirer

Oh my Andrew!!! you’re quite cute!

by Justin Fernandez

Wow! You have no idea how helpful that short fight tutorial is going to be. I just finished filming a 12 ep web series with quite a few fight scenes and that is likely going to be used in a few shots so I don’t have to reshoot them. THANKS AK! Then I stuck around for the lens flare bit and I was blown away. You’re starting to sell me on that product. Might have to get that one as a holiday gift for myself. That plugin looks amazing, lot of work looks like it went into that. Keep it up AK.

Mr Andrew Kramer you are a fountain of pure awesome! 25% off the super excellent Video Copilot products and what can I do but order up not one, not two but… THREE of your DVDs. When I get my copy of Action Essentials II I know exactly what I’m going to do! I’m going to use the torches and fire up some null objects and track those torches onto my friends bald head in the rock video I’m doing for him. Can’t wait! Thanks so much for everything you guys do.

by Roger (CD in Hong Kong)

Awesome! This looks like a fantastic plugin. Working on a TVC this week and this plugin is exactly what I need! I wish it was being released today!!

haha, nice. I actually watched the Wizard of OZ like 2 weeks ago :D

Great looking plug-in Andrew, did you make it with your ‘bear” hands?

Nice!, you should get somebody to transcribe to text that video too, so people who can’t for a reason or the other watch the video can still read the blog post.

(I’m talking about reading this from my mobile phone hehe)

haha the pepsi
well played lol

Move over Knoll… Kramer is the new king of flares.

Andrew will you have my wife’s kid?

Hey Andrew! I just wanted to ask if you were gonna make a video maybe on some examples of how you can use optical flares. Great product by the way. Never disappoints. Hehe did you just say thanks to Coca Cola and open up a Pepsi can? Genius.

A-MA-ZING! The saddest thing is that you sell it 140$…You’d deserve at least 400$ for that masterpiece! You are a genius, VideoCopilot is simply awesome, it’s leading directly to heaven! Everything I know today in After Effects, I learned it on VideoCopilot, so I’d like to say Thank You a thousand times, you’re the greatest man on Earth M.Kramer!

Wish you and your family many…HAPPY DIWALI…
Sir

Haha, you had a Pepsi at the end. :P
Great stuff though.
I hope the Coca Cola isn’t pissed though.

nice vid love it :)

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA lens flare seems really great! This quick look inside this plugin was just amazing!

For those of you who love to do some sound editing …

I just got back from Alaska and got this

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/w181eR3frxpDrgPqPvButg?authkey=Gv1sRgCJCLue-CoeaTIQ&feat=directlink … amazing how you can find sounds everywhere … Hope you will like it …

Andrew!
Will this product be available only for After Effects, or Photoshop as well?

That plug-in will rock the scene ! More than great job Andrew.

That must be a new Coca-Cola can :) Can’t wait to get the plug-in.

by Navarro Parker

Judging from some of the UI shots, it will be possible to construct my own lens elements? (From shape layers perhaps?)

Check out the unique trapezoidal “flare” array off Bono’s shoulder in this U2/Blackberry ad — :22 seconds into it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54hdxy5uPrk

there are a lot comments
does Andrew read it? :)
thanks for vidio

Awesome Bars Tutorial.

I will definitly consider buying this plug-in, awsome !!

Hi andrew I have a question about how did you create the 3d reflecting titles like your last blog from save 25% is there a possibilty that you can give me some directions how to recreat that effect like you action essential 2 your titles are awsome but it’s done in 3D max am I wright so please help!

Greetz from Belgium

amazing as always!

~T~

is Optical Flares compatible with CS3?

Was that a design on your boyscout shirt or did your new born throw up on it. Trust me I have been there. Love the Flares…can’t wait.

hey, cool that you killed that bear with your bare hands lol:P
optical flares look good:D

Ahahahaha coca-cola.

Anyway, I must say the plugin impressed me. It actually looks like version 5 or 6 and not version 1. Typically programs start off functional, barely. Then the functions grow over the years as things come to the surface and the interface grows more and more prettier.. but you guys are making it look great and very full featured on the first try. Kudos.

Just purchased Action essentials 2 :-)
I had to, at this price with the 25% off it’s a must buy!

This interface would also be great for Film Looks! Hint Hint. You should make that next.

We also need a beauty/retouching plugin.

Grande Andrew sei il nostro idolo!

And now finally we see you!! XD

Just curious if you can provide some details on your setup. IE What mic are you using, lighting setup etc.

Thanks

by Navarro Parker

When will you start taking pre-orders?

Loved the Video Copilot Blog-Show! You have this knack for this great teaching style with a perfect amount of teaching and humor in your videos, including this one, that really makes this site deserve a top spot in everybody’s bookmark bars and products that belong on everybody’s christmas lists. Even though I’m in high school, I’ve still been a long time fan and always will if you keep it up!

Great stuff. I would also like to know what type of audio mixer/mic you are using..Great Audio!

Andrew, I love you!! :P

by Ayb from the Philippines

hey Sir Andrew. .

Thank you so much for the preview in the upcoming plug in. .
it’s Nothing not very at all (haha). . yeah. .

You sound more funny than you look! Thanks a lot, great work!

by Mateus Ferreira

This new logo from Pepsi is Pepsi for designers!! hauhauha

Hey Andrew!

The Interface for Optical Flares looks great and very intuitive and I know how much work that is (not even mentioning the flares);
but how will we be animating the values that define the look of the lens flare?

Okay – you might say “Thats unrealistic!”, because Lens Flares normally stay the same in a scene, but I ask you: Who wants to be realistic?

Best Regards,
Dave

P.S. Do I get an email notification when you answer? Pleaaaseee…

Hey Andrew It’s amazing your work, I like too much, thanks for the advice about the new plugin.

Congratulations From Venezuela!!!!!!!!!!!

spiit for me

Andrew,

the video blogs are great…really enjoying them keep up the fantastic work.

Quick question as always, and i’ll explain as i go along. I’m moving to the US this thursday (29th oct 2009)and I want to keep a vidoe blog for friends and family back home in ireland – sooooo what video camera are you using for the blog show. It would be awesome if I could do a video blog for them (and maybe use the same video camera as is used for my blog, to shoot some of the cool stuff i’ll be doing while i’m in sierra vista, arizona.)

thanks for your help and the endless knowledge that you share…thoughts on the 7D were great!

God bless

Would love some of that blue hair gel :p

that great! Mr. Andrew

I’m new for your website.

I’m thai people.

I like all about your Tip so much. It makes me to improve my AE skill.

Thank you very much Mr.Andrew. you are My master of AE !!!!!!!!!

Andrew, could you do a tutorial for the intro that you have for the vlogs?

That would be awesome…

LOL love the subliminal messaging of the twitch product lol

hahahaa!!
coca-colaa “sponsoring you” and then drinking a pepsi?
ahhh that made my day :)

gotta love lens flares <3

like it all, but was wondering in the preset save that we could have a community icon that would connect with others that have the program to share our presets with …just a thought of a plug-in that gives back…awesome!

I got my eagle scout last june.

I love your blog updates, even if they are rambling.

Dude you are soooooooo friggin funny man. Its so effortess haha, what a way to liven up these videos and tutorials man. Excellent. God Bless You man.

~thejA!RU

I just want to ask. Which is better? Knoll Light Factory Pro or Optical Len Flare?? What are the difference?

You are my man! =)

Wow, that is an amazing GUI! It is a rarity these days to see an animated UI, great job!
I was wondering what language you used to make the effects?

Great job on the plugin,
Max

LoL that coke-thing :D :D :D
