The ball of light is actually the Discover Card orange talking ball of light…
looks like Sam has reached his limit..
Wow. Not to belittle your previous efforts — which remain among the best video tutorials for creatives, paid or otherwise — but this is the most enlightening tutorial I’ve ever seen. I hope you continue this trend of ever-increasing quality
My birthday is in a month. Products will be purchased.
Thanks for this tutorial it is SPECTACULAR!!
Amazing.
That was super cool! I already made my own version.
Soo….uhm. My b-day is May 2nd, do you think Action Essentials 2 will be out by then?
I’ve been looking all over the internet for something like this. It’s too beautiful for words.
NOOOO, dude I refuse to come back here. Sam was the only reason I watched you Andrew. Say it ain’t so. Dude you have to bring him back from dead. Try that thing they did with Optimus Prime, I’m sure the same technique could work for Sam.
Great tutorial!
You owe Sam big time for this! I mean…you burnt off the dude’s skin and both his hands. I say you should let him co-host a tutorial to make it up to him!
Thanks for the Tutorial! You Rock!
oh no… oh no.. can’t believe it’s true..
I only see it in movies, but now.. i’m doin’ it in my comp.hehe
thanks mr.kramer, appreciate everything. BTW, what is the exact release of Action Essentials 2? Can’t to have it in my collection of your products.

I kind of reminds me of the vampire disintegration effect in the Blade movies.
Very cool!
Great Tutorial!!! Man every one seems to be better and better. This looks like the same kind of effect they used on the eiffel tower shot, shown in the G.I.Joe movie trailer.
Thanks Andrew these are great principals.
Just beautiful Andrew!!!
Speechless!
Wow, thanks a bunch. This one is sick!!!!
I loved this tutorial! Smoke creation, fire, YES!

-David
it’s 1:00AM…. I gotta be up in 4.5 hours…. but I dont care!!! I’m watching this NOW!! Always top notch stuff from you and the guys AK.
Keep it up, because of videocopilot (I speak for myself and alot of people I’m sure) doors have been opened for creativity we would have either never seen, or not realized until they were obsolete.
Thanks!
VFX_Phil

Am I the only one that has a problem watching the tutorials??? They stop halfway through.

If you ever need stock footage but don’t have time to make it yourself, (I’m sure you already know this) go to detonationfilms.com; they have some great free stuff and some not-so-free stuff, plus a HD web site for HD footage.
Incidentally, where in the world did you get that sweet girly scream at the end?

this is epic!!!
Sam is so hot!!!!!…. what?
Was this inspired by The Watchmen movie where Doctor Manhattan disintegrated people by touching them?
I did a clip for our cod4 clan website and used the tutorial as a guide here it is.
http://www.youtube.com/clancy30
Awesome Tut!
Hey you’re on Vista now!?
To clancy30: How to slow down the burn. Check your linear wipe layer
WOWWWWWWW. a litlle complicated, but the final shot is amazing, you are the best andrew!!!!! and sam too

ANDREW KRAMER! is vista make particle ? yes ?
ROCK MAN! ROCK MAN ! texture particle make world seams SAM DIE!!! a hahahaha!!!
I finally found time to watch this one. Great tutorial. Much kudos for producing the entire effect using AE’s built-in tools. I tackled mine with Particular, gaining a bit more control over the particles but sacrificing much of the render speed.
Keep ‘em coming!
Wow thats a pretty cool effect there andrew.
Recently did a remake test of your Meteor film here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=–h0spYiSUo as a test for effects for a film we’re making for UK Cinemas, so any U.K dwellers, check us out cjcinematics.co.uk or thefacesofblood.com
We’re using ALL of andrew & co’s products so it should be pretty good.
Thanks andrew, couldn’t have done it with out you (:
Oh and that comment went a bit off topic but i was just saying because we’ll be using that effect in it too.
Great technique. And btw great tutorial. I found a real cool Production for Philips. You have to take a look at this. Just amazing.
Where’s Sam Footage? I download the “Project” but isn’t there Where?????
i have a question ,can we use the same tutorial technique but use the particles and Disintegration to do the effect from the day the earth stood still when the particles eating everything in its way ,any ideas on how to do that?
Now you have to make a re-materialization tutorial so we can learn how to get Sam back!
is no footage? yes ? is no footage Andrew kRaMER ?
Wow. That granade look awesome! I love the color of the granade. Green is my favorite color. It looks like it came straight out of blasian movie.
This is cool to use for a fuse (hey that rhymes) on a stick of dynamite
make the fuse, yes? sir Kramer Andrew ROCK!!!
This tutorial has sparked my mind… Vampires + Action Essentials (not to mention the potential in Act. Ess. 2) and you have yourself a kick-a$$ film! Great tutorial!
Andrew, I wonder if you’ll ever end up working on a project which involves Illuminati symbolism without you noticing…
So Sam has runaway from home, had bugs under his skin, vamped out, been hit by a car, and now disintegrated. Now that’s tough work…don’t forget your wheaties Sam.
Holy disintegration Batman!
Awesome work Andrew.
tqs & very interesting ….keep up
BATMAN Andrew Kramer dude is make essentials no ooo !!!!

Now we need a water effect like the one comes splashing on discovery channel.
That was cool man. You crack me up man thanks for making these tuts amusing
Andrew? I suppose you could use this same effect in making someone come out of a wall or something!? Like a chameleon effect?
Thanks
Vic
Great job on this one. Super useful and informative.
AK, Congrats on the cool shout-out for this site and your work from J.J. Abrams in this month’s Wired mag.
OMG!!!
Andrew is definitely an inspiration!
I think this is my fav tute so far!!! Thanks AK
Andrew, first congratulations for your work!
im from spain.. my question is:
why the detail level of this tutorial is worst than the granade video you posted a few days? i folow all steps of the tutorial and dont get the impresive high detail level of the granade video preview…
and i can’t see the project file when i push the project button in this tutorial.. why?
anyway you are the best! i really loves your work and how you explain all this stuff. Andrew forever!
Thanks for all master Kramer!
is the SAM GS footage not included or will it be at a later date?
That was a great tutorial andrew!!! I am still laughing from the middle when you went back to the render to show sam burning again…lmao. Going to the studio now to film some footage so I can try it myself.
Very Great, i suggested this idea before in other tutorial blog,
do u really accept ideas and do it as tutorials for us ?
if u do, this kind of u , if u don’t so ur mind is connected to us some how ! Awesome man, amazing, it drives to different ideas , a lot of it – go ahead with success
wow! This is what i have asked for. Amazing work.
hope new techniques will come in the future. All the best.
an other cool tutorial thx andrew you rock so much
i learn lot of stuff with you
much apreciate blog and site
keep cool attitude dude
Really great tutorial
Thank you a lot Andrew
Hi Andrew,
question: where did you get the BG and graphic in front for your last video with Sam in this tutorial? Maybe you can tell me?
videocopilot is becoming too violent.
Nice one… I tried something like that for my 2009 wishes. This one is juste perfect.
Loved the design that you made for the tut,
Thanks A lot Andrew
This one got me popular with my firends….exept the one who got disinagrated….lol!
oh well
AK, you’re THE MAN !
—————–
I dare to say it : this is the most advanded tutorial – technically – you’ve ever made !
Color correction, luma mat, this reminds me the last part of The Bullet DVD, where slight adjustements bring real improvements at all …
Not easy to follow in fact, and you do it so fast, and such a natural way : how impressive guy !!!
Keep going on the good work, i’ll wait for AEII (the HD version if it’s still on the run).
You say in the tutorial today’s software allow such better things than 2 years ago (blue planet and so) … For me, in fact, YOU have pushed it TO THE REAL NEXT LEVEL, and not the software. I mean, as all of us, you have progressed too.
OK, now I prepare a new layer for my credit card, called “Hot Stuff”, so it’ll be ready when AEII comes out !
Greetings from France.
Stanley
Excellent as always! I did my version of this one, adding a bones disolve with the FORM plug in.
