Hey Andrew,
You've used a Mac on this since Pro Res only exists in Mac. Am I right?
I would really find it useful if you explained what you did how you shot it on this blog. Like keeping us posted with the details of how you down-converted the footage and how did AE handle the Pro Res Footage.
Also if you're working on a mac, I've noticed that in the bonus of the Evolution DVD you are doing a demo in Motion. Is it possible that you do other Tutorials on Motion? All the other stuff that's there sucks compared to your teaching style.
I've learned compositing purely from your website and DVD's. So thank you for sharing the knowledge.

I have a question about the workflow you guys were using. Why use quickitme files for the comp work? I've been involved in a few RED jobs, and we always transcoded to DPX or Cineon files for the composites, then rendered out the same for the colorist. You're kinda locked in with the quickitme files, not to mention the gamma shift problems with prores and final cut.

Working with the RED is nice, and the keys are 100 times better (when lit well) than DVC-PRO or any compressed video source for that matter. I agree with the earlier post that it really would be nice to get the curve data for the LUT from RedCine to AE, or even some kind of hack, just so we all know what the true look is supposed to be with the R3D files.

Maybe you can expand on the workflow you used in another post sometime?

Thanks,
Jeff
