Attending NAB

Although we were not able to secure a booth in time for NAB 2008, I will be lurking around the Plug-in Pavilion on Monday and Tuesday. I’ll probably be unrecognizable but Sam Loya is going to be with me so look for him and please stop by to say hello. Now if you can count cards, we should really talk

aahhh...

Great movie

I loved the beginning sequence with the cards and chips...i was really disapointed that they didn't do something creative with the title though.....it was just.........21.......in white, and then faded away...

that first shot was crazy though....i wonder how they did that...
(i think the camera was mounted to a remote control helicopter...the kinds flying around the mall)

but thats just a film school grad's opinion....

I can echo the sentiments above about RED. Be sure to check out their booth, where they should have a couple of announcements incl. a more portable cam code-named: Scarlett.

To clear up any confusion...

NAB: National Association of Broadcasters. Every year round April they have a show/convention in Las Vegas where various top-level film, tv and web companies (that cover a wide range of disciplines) exhibit their latest work and products.

Full info can be found at: www.nabshow.com

I'm unable to attend NAB this year, and I'm wondering if anyone had a chance to check out the demo of the new digieffects plugins that were being presented. They are called Natural Forces and Simulate. Priced at a hundred bucks a pop, I'm wondering if they are worth checking out...

Thanks,

Chris

Sorry I didn't run into you at NAB. Man, the south hall was a nut house. Very cool stuff on display though, and I did get to meet John Dickinson and Harry Frank at the Plug-In Pavilion, and went home with some very strange freebies. I don't really know why HP was giving away umbrellas. Very strange.

NAB was great especially with Red's new Camera announcement (and some of the booth babes). Anyway did you happen to check out Gridiron's FLOW? I know it was at MacWorld but I was floored when I saw it at NAB in person. Anyway here's the link: http://www.gridironsoftware.com/Flow/

Enjoy!

PS. Nucleo is a lifesaver and works flawlessly so I wouldn't be surprised if FLOW works just as well if not better.

The digieffects plugins were amazing also. Well worth the price (if you need it) and the free t-shirt from them isn't bad either.
