February 14th, 2008 @ 11:08 am
Yeah Andrew, my mind, too!!!
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:08 am
Awesome, I can't wait!
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:09 am
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:16 am
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh :D
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:16 am
woot? did you create it?
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:18 am
I had nothing to do with this epic film, but I'm pretty sure Spielberg is making it for me...
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:19 am
Not watching it. im avoiding all the promotion stuff until May then i will see the film with Fresh eyes :D:D I love Indy and this is gonna be hard :(
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:24 am
Yeah, a friend of my friend was the medic on the set for the whole shoot. He ended up with Indy's satchel after the shooting was over. They were going to make the whip all CGI, but I guess that Harrison refused to shoot with anything other than a real whip. Sweet.
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:25 am
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:25 am
Yeah baby! I'm completely sold now. Indy is back!

"You're a teacher?" "Part time."

February 14th, 2008 @ 11:26 am
Awsome ! It's very exciting to watch the trailer, you feel the indiana jones spirit in all your body :)
There is some kind of twitch effect in the trailer ^^

February 14th, 2008 @ 11:28 am
I like how they kept the same "style" by not creating a "2008" look/ambiance that would be too revolutionnized (like the last James Bond Pierce Brosnan did). To cut it short, it looks awesome.
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:29 am
shoot i was background and i was so close to say hi to mr steven but never got the chance. it was so tight.
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:39 am
do you know what is the name of the font they used to make this title ,or its a 3d text?
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:42 am
thats great. but how in the world do they compress it that good. you also kramer, in your previews. compress things so good. i am a loser
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:43 am
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:45 am
Thank you so much! I've waited most of my life for this! I heard rumor of it back in 1999 when I was a Senior in High School. Finally!! AND it's released on my birthday!
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:49 am
just one word... SEXY!
Jim Andrews
February 14th, 2008 @ 11:51 am
No Andrew,
Spielberg is making it for me, cause I asked him politely.
Marchy D
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:21 pm
I couldn't help but scream 'YEAHH!!!' when he first shot his whip and swung down off the crates. I haven't felt a high like that in years. All the naysayers about Ford's age can take a nice swig from a can of 'black sleep of Cali' Cola. Indy's back!

I propose a movie night at Andrews. Who's in? 8)
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:23 pm
i want to see the rest.

I like the music!!!!! Does anybody know whether it is going to be in other countrys also on the 22 May released? hope so
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:26 pm
Look at the soldier left in front of the boxes (at about 1:00 or so).
His legs are moving fancy ;)
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:28 pm
Lol. Its coming out a day before my birthday. Looks awesome. Can't wait to see it. Though I wish Harrison Ford was still as youg as in the others. :P

February 14th, 2008 @ 12:36 pm
Wow... this movie will be the best =]
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:43 pm
all i have to say is.....
cant wait!
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:48 pm
The music was epic :D you can compare it with the soundtrack from the film Sunshine or even the Lionking soundtrack :P
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:53 pm
Wow, this is an amazing trailer !
Waiting for the movie !
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:53 pm
haha I just watched this video and came to the blog to post you a link Andrew, guess you beat me to it!
February 14th, 2008 @ 12:54 pm
hoha hat noch einer son kalten schauer der freude übern rücken krichen spürn beim schaun.....
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:01 pm
oooh. excited!! looks awesome.
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:01 pm
Hey Andrew ,
Your not going to watch that Movie are you? I bet ur standing in line already. Looks like a cool movie......!!!!
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:07 pm
I hate that producers rely on so much cg now.....if they would have done the whip cg that would have been AWFUL. It just seems like there is less of a focus on the story, and more of a focus on the cg........maybe that's just me though.
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:07 pm
Look at 1:07, right side of frame, C-stands and a black flag are visible. Quick, call the roto and paint department!
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:28 pm
I'm excited about the movie, but I didn't like this trailer...
ra elliott
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:28 pm
God is smiling I'm sure.
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:32 pm
I think is a little bit chaotic... too more things at one time, but technically it is first class
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:33 pm
Awesome. Can't wait until May.
February 14th, 2008 @ 1:57 pm
i've been waiting this movie for 17 years.... and now i can't imagine it's almost done ^^
February 14th, 2008 @ 2:05 pm
I just made this from looking at the top indy pic,if its not that good its becuase my cat smacked me on the back of the head.
Johnny Handsome
February 14th, 2008 @ 2:14 pm
I saw the trailer on the official website a couple of hours ago and i think the movie is gonna be awesome.
My parents watched the original "Raiders" in theater and they are gonna watch this one for sure.
I thought the ending was cool with the 3d logo and the whipcrack sound.... sounds like a new tutorial request... ;)
February 14th, 2008 @ 2:19 pm
Lucas tried to get Spielberg to shoot it digitally but he wouldn't go for it.

Something about film grain.. what the hell is that??? ... And digital being "too clean"

Yeah, Steven, WHATEVER
Johnny Handsome
February 14th, 2008 @ 2:29 pm
Hey, look at that explosion in the warehouse, they used Action Movie Essentials. :D

February 14th, 2008 @ 2:32 pm
Wow, you´re a Hardcore fan aren´t you :D
Keep it short ;)
February 14th, 2008 @ 2:45 pm
Are they setting it up so the young guy can replace Indy (Ford) since he can't keep making these forever?
February 14th, 2008 @ 2:50 pm
Awesome! I can't wait! Maybe you should do a tutorial in celebration somehow. But this is the wrong section for that request. Anyways, it looks awesome!
February 14th, 2008 @ 2:54 pm
It would be even more awesome if shia labeouf wasn't in it. Hasn't that kid been in every blockbuster the past 8 months?
February 14th, 2008 @ 3:09 pm
This One is going to be a good one for SURE
February 14th, 2008 @ 3:14 pm
When I was child I was watching 'riders of the lsot ark' non-stop :) It was my favourite movie (so do my mother, she loves harrison :P). Now I can't wait for IV - it'll be way back to childhood :)
February 14th, 2008 @ 3:23 pm
FREAKING AMAZING. I've waited to long for this movie, and it is beyond my expectations!!! Can't wait!
February 14th, 2008 @ 3:48 pm
Victor Anderssén, i agree totally, especially sunshine because the music in that movie was unbelievable, especially during capa's jump scene.

Also this trailer was sick, can't wait, don't wanna wait, but i have to wait.

P.S. those who haven't seen sunshine should really check it out.
February 14th, 2008 @ 4:22 pm
Today is Valentine's DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 14th, 2008 @ 4:26 pm
February 14th, 2008 @ 5:33 pm
What really excites me about this is the Lego Indiana Jones game that's going to come out. Lego Star Wars was awesome, Lego Indy will be sweet too.
February 14th, 2008 @ 6:49 pm
i hope that this movie will be great.

" raiders of the lost ark and the temple of doom " was two excellent movies.

but " the last crusade " was not so good.
Just Amit
February 14th, 2008 @ 7:13 pm
ha, l love how they hold the old style with it very well
DÃ¥ Spence
February 14th, 2008 @ 8:05 pm
What's with the old dudes coming out with their new follow ups? Rambo and now Indy? Man. It's extremely funny though, I thought Rambo was AWESOME! And I'm sure Indy will be just as good. But so far, it looks pretty sweet. I'm more of a Spielberg fan... Miss his stuff. I just wish the idiot Shia LaBeouf wasn't in it!! Can't stand him! Terrible acting! It'll be my one draw back!
February 14th, 2008 @ 8:30 pm
doesnt look like the classic Indy. Too much low key lighting and deep colors. Thats now what indy looks like... this is gonna suck. I hope not though.
February 14th, 2008 @ 8:37 pm
Can't wait for this movie... I thought you made that title pic then I saw it in the trailer and was like... what? lol
February 14th, 2008 @ 8:46 pm
I wonder if it contains random scenes of Harrison Ford asking people for his family back.

(From family guy)

February 14th, 2008 @ 8:54 pm
Man that looks good!
Loved the other 3 movies, they're awesome. Got the origional poster on my wall. ;)
February 14th, 2008 @ 8:55 pm
Like they say "all good things must come to an end." You can't be serious when you say this looks good, in my opinion it's another one of those money making schemes by Hollywood, for example just look at the colors and CGI it looks horrible. Another thing I can’t stand is the actor Shia LaBeouf I am sorry but this guy acts exactly how he did in the show “Even Stevens.” I think I will hold on to my money and buy another DVD from Andrew Kramer.
February 14th, 2008 @ 9:36 pm
Hey dudes
February 14th, 2008 @ 9:59 pm

I'm actually excited about seeing this.

Unlike the new Rambo.

If you haven't seen the trailer, don't bother.

It's Excruciating.
February 14th, 2008 @ 10:23 pm
Did the part where he picked up his hat give you goosebumps?
February 14th, 2008 @ 10:53 pm
Oh my god !!!
incredible sound, music, live action, digital effects !
very very impressive
I love it
Josh Johnson
February 15th, 2008 @ 12:10 am
Saw this trailor in the theater today I'll see it for sure. Hearing the theme music in the theater was awesoem! :). It previewd before umm....Definately Maybe(It was Valentines day).
February 15th, 2008 @ 12:41 am
What Font is used on the Indy logo? Any Ideas?
February 15th, 2008 @ 1:22 am
leave now haters - Indiana Solo is back!
February 15th, 2008 @ 1:30 am
hell yeh!!!
super cool!
February 15th, 2008 @ 1:51 am

Andrew, maybe you could make a little tutorial on how to make the car go through those crates near the start...

February 15th, 2008 @ 1:52 am

OMG !!

:( :)
February 15th, 2008 @ 2:01 am
Yeah it's gonna be a great movie. I heard they almost cancelled making it because the guys in ILM did have enough time to learn everything ANDREW tried to teach them.
February 15th, 2008 @ 3:07 am
OMG this movie is going to be freaking hot =)=)
February 15th, 2008 @ 3:11 am
Anyone else notice the shoddy CG work on the first shot of indy (00:57)??

Watch the top of Ray Winstone's pants... And the Officer to the left of Winstone - his body almost completely slides off his legs! WTF!?!
February 15th, 2008 @ 3:16 am
@ Blair

Spot on. really bad considering Lucas has his own purpose made CGI company..
Ensign Benson
February 15th, 2008 @ 3:55 am
Hey Blair's right, check it out...

"Watch the top of Ray Winstone’s pants… And the Officer to the left of Winstone - his body almost completely slides off his legs! WTF!?!"
Richard Wakefield
February 15th, 2008 @ 4:00 am
Blair...oh my god, well spotted...what the hell happened there!

seriously can't wait for this film...the ONLY sequel out actually worth watching!
February 15th, 2008 @ 4:19 am
At 00:59 there's a soldier appearing behind the most back soldier from nothing! At that time there's a black spot on the building wich moves along where the soldier was supposed to appear. The soldier walks from te left to the right.

Another point in this trailer where something is wrong happens at 1:08. Indy swings backwards to the truck, his behind is almost on the hood of the truck and far below the roof of the truck, in the scene transition that follows Indy is landing with his behind on the roof of the cabine from the truck.

Not very important but it could be done better. right Andrew?

I'm looking forward for this movie!! I like Indy.
February 15th, 2008 @ 4:35 am
at (1:14) Indy is in the car in front of the truck where he crashed into by his swinging adventure, how?. At 1:16 you can see that the truck is fully recovered from the damage caused by Indy, how?. Indy is magic :)

The Indiana Jones title at the end is cool, 3D indiana jones title with a rusty texture. I'm going to create it myself.

There are much cool effects in this trailer, i'm going to modify those effects for my own projects.

February 15th, 2008 @ 5:09 am
Im not sure what you guys are talking about?? what are we looking for?? this is just a teaser besides. Im sure itll be fixed up in the final movie.
February 15th, 2008 @ 5:12 am
Cmon guys gimmie a break, not that big of a deal. im sure itll be addressed in the final. I mean, if u noticed it im sure spielberg notices it too
February 15th, 2008 @ 5:31 am
well that trailer was obiously ment for the fans, still looks kinda cool tough.. going to watch it.
February 15th, 2008 @ 5:43 am
you are not wrong about the cgi pants. it turns out, the international trailer has, no american flag, and winstones pants are fine. In the american trailer, look at the guns in the first shot of indi when he says "not as easy as it used to be", all the guns have been lowered. I can only think this has been done because the trailer was released in the morning. but i just hope its not spielberg doing what he did to E.T
compare both here
February 15th, 2008 @ 5:49 am
Two jokes about his age. Hope they don't ruin the series with the "Damn, I thought that was closer" type jokes the whole time.
February 15th, 2008 @ 6:50 am
I need a grin-ectomy! Looks like its going to be good.
February 15th, 2008 @ 7:12 am
Ah can't wait:) Btw thanks Andrew, didn't even know that a new indiana jones movie was coming until I saw your post about it coming a long time ago:)
February 15th, 2008 @ 7:51 am
friggin cool! I am so excited! Can't wait..
February 15th, 2008 @ 7:52 am
WOW, a very cool trailer!!!
February 15th, 2008 @ 7:53 am

This is REALLY Weird...that 00:57 shot.

i mean....why did they bother doing all that CG, and green screen or wotever?

i bet it was Tough to make. but why in the first place?
anyone knows?
February 15th, 2008 @ 8:01 am
the uncut trailer is there

no flag
but the guns are were they should be
February 15th, 2008 @ 9:18 am
What's the font used in the 3d titles (not the Indiana Jones one) ?????
Some Guy
February 15th, 2008 @ 10:01 am
I think the removal of the guns is because of the "The following preview has been approved for all audiences by the MPAA" thing. The guns would mean violence and this is bad for the sensitive American eyes. There are often two versions of trailers: the one is the edited US trailer and the other is the unrated international trailer (like the trailers of "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", "Hard Candy" or "Into the Blue").
daniel challans
February 15th, 2008 @ 10:42 am
although i'm really looking forward to this, i have to say that some of the cgi reminded me of the recent king kong movie, saying that, it still looks great and i'll be in the cinema for sure.
Ben W
February 15th, 2008 @ 10:51 am
I'm a huge fan of Indiana Jones but I can't help but hear a little Asian voice in my ear telling me to cover my heart. I'm glad it took 15 years to make since my respect for Lucas has gone down. Spielberg is this movie's only hope. Harrison Ford hasn't really acted since Fugitive. Which sucks since it, Mosquito Coast, Regarding Henry, and so many of his other early movies were awesome. I will definitely go see it and will definitely not get my hopes up.

P.S. I'm glad to see Karen Allen.
timothy boodram
February 15th, 2008 @ 11:35 am
ive never even seen the first 3 movies...i wasnt even born when they came these days...
Person Man
February 15th, 2008 @ 11:35 am
The ominous Roswell crate is giving me a bad feeling...
I sure hope they tied Lucas up properly and locked him away while making that movie. Wouldn't want Jar Jar Binks to jump out of that box.

other than that: Indy! Whee!
Looks great so far. Can't wait to see it.
February 15th, 2008 @ 11:47 am
Thanks for the links simondo! The MPAA strikes again... So hopefully we'll see the uncensored version in the actual film when it's got its PG13 rating or whatever. Still seems like an inane thing to censor even just for the trailer.

Re: the rest of the CG work. I love the look of it. I especially love how hokey the shot of Blanchett in the car looks. Reminds me of the greenscreen work on the waterraft shot in Temple of Doom.

And on the one-liners: The Indy films have always had tons of cheesy one-liners. This shouldn't be any different.
February 15th, 2008 @ 12:09 pm
Nice catch on the pants, especially the screen shot from the international trailer.

The trailer premiered with a children's movie, so it in not a surprise that the guns were lowered. I'm sure there is some dark stuff in this movie and they want to make it lighter for the first trailer too. Not too mention they may not have had time to edit it for the international trailers because of the time it takes to deliver it to all the distributors. Obviously a quick job done at the last minute for the US version.

Hardly a big deal.
February 15th, 2008 @ 12:35 pm
Hey Andrew, and verybody, it's a great trailer, but i think you all like in much better quality.
Here is a present, a 720p HD Trailer.

It's like Indy, if you look farther you can find great things.
I hope you all like it!.
February 15th, 2008 @ 12:38 pm
A Very good looking Title segment maybe u could do your very own Indiana Jones tutorial!!
February 15th, 2008 @ 12:40 pm
A very good looking Title segment! Maybe you could do an Indiana Jones Tutorial
February 15th, 2008 @ 1:26 pm
3d tutorials better :P
February 15th, 2008 @ 1:26 pm
Useless link was broken, but i put it in my server, so this is the link.
February 15th, 2008 @ 2:07 pm
00:57 shot
yah looks like a bad vfx work but its just the preview as we all know some times the previews come out before all the post its done so i hope thats the reason.

theres the thing of cgi pants, the third (left to right) soldier arms i think to cover the original position of the gun as well of the first soldier is placed over the original
also the boxes are simple layers on 3d space same for the tow soldiers getting in frame, you can see some roto erros going on.

the cool thing is watchin this kind of things tell us that we can use simple tecniques as those and make our own shots look great in after effects i think im going to try this shot by my own

cant wait until it gets to mexico
February 15th, 2008 @ 2:07 pm
While watching the trailer, I immediately thought of Video Copilot. The graphics for the text looks lifted from Andrew's stuff.
February 15th, 2008 @ 3:40 pm
thanks kensen
February 15th, 2008 @ 4:25 pm
A little explanation on what is "pixel aspect ratio correction"
February 15th, 2008 @ 4:48 pm
i was just watching the simple plan music video "when im gone" and there was some of the paint splatters(i think) and even the light streaks were tracked into the shot.
but i cant verify this but im shure it was
February 15th, 2008 @ 5:55 pm
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO

Thanks AK, you just made my day! (that rhymed!)
February 15th, 2008 @ 7:18 pm
As i see you all are indy fans, i hope you have the 4 dvd box set then?

it contains a nice dvd on the making of ...of the 3 epic films

its so nice that even back in the days those guys really knew what worked and what not. also i love the little "referals" to star wars in the indy films, hidden easter eggs for the fans :]

look and look twice
February 15th, 2008 @ 7:31 pm
well another reason the guns might have been lowered i think could be down to the recent shootiings, in which case i cant complain
and anyway, i thought the indy text looks like andrews soon to be 3d shadow tutorial
February 15th, 2008 @ 8:42 pm
wow i really love how they made it look old school [with some things that look a bit modern]. it actually kinda feels like an indiana jones movie :D
February 15th, 2008 @ 9:58 pm
I am certain that Spielberg was inspired by VCP to make the new film.
Anyway, I have hired Harrison Ford's bother Terence a few times to do photography for me. He's a great guy.
February 16th, 2008 @ 1:09 am
To hear the Indy theme music was great, although they used the main theme from 'Children of Dune' for the first part of the trailer.

You can find the Indy font searching for Fedora SF . The 'Crystal Skull font' seems like a pretty basic sans serif font to me, actually, with some 3D en textures added.
February 16th, 2008 @ 3:34 am
Awesome, almost 20 years later. Looking forward to it. It's funny that, as far as I know, George Lucas always releases his films around the 20th of May. Or am I wrong?
February 16th, 2008 @ 4:27 am
The italic Russel Square font is very close to the one used in the logo.
February 16th, 2008 @ 4:30 am
Update: Russel Square font looks like the one used in PREVIOUS logos... Now that I pay more attention to the new logo, it's quite different.
February 16th, 2008 @ 10:16 am
"Man I can't wait!"
February 16th, 2008 @ 9:27 pm
que que?? el INDIO JUAN??? oohh sorry we are in US, it is INDIANA JONES!!

February 17th, 2008 @ 1:55 am
Hey Andy!

Plz but a normal price tag for product, like 200-300$

You can ask ANY PRICE we all will buy ur procudts anyway!

if u sellem for 100$ then... it will be spoiled, u know what i mean.
i would pay for this bullet tutorial only... about 300-500$ with no problem!

February 17th, 2008 @ 3:59 am
timmi, id leave the business and pricing left to andrew. im sure the reason we all buy his products is because they are afforadable, and high quality. if you bump the price up you can guarantee customers would find the products elewere.
sad but true
February 17th, 2008 @ 10:00 am
February 17th, 2008 @ 4:21 pm
Timmi DON'T say that I cannot afford all that money for a DVD =(
February 17th, 2008 @ 11:35 pm
So, apparently there's an MPAA rule that no gun can be pointed directly at someone in the same frame in a trailer. Which is beyond ridiculous.

Here's a link to the international (unaltered) version of the trailer (720p mov):

February 19th, 2008 @ 11:57 pm
mad, i cant wait!! nar pretty sure Speilburg made if for ME!!
February 23rd, 2008 @ 5:39 am
I found the same trailer on youtube streaming is alot quicker
Wouter K.
February 24th, 2008 @ 2:26 pm
Oh, god!

That quality breaks my eyes into thousands of little pieces, maybe millions as I cannot see anything! Did the person that put this video on youtube see that this quality is actually crap? I'am not working with HD stuff eighter (it still is close to it), but this is really I never saw before.

It isn't loading slow, it's probably just your pc or internet connection...

Back to the point, nice trailer.
Can't wait to see some more glimps of this movie.

Wouter K.
Double A
February 27th, 2008 @ 11:01 pm
Hey Andrew,
can you do a tutorial on how to make that sandy smoke graphic from the trailer?
March 5th, 2008 @ 5:29 pm
Thibaud - The font you are looking for is called "Venture" and it's one of my Indiana Jones style typefaces that I created. You can check it out at I've also created a font called "Safari" and it is based on the title graphics. There are other Indy-style fonts out there (Fedora, Adventure) that are free and look pretty good, but my design is precise and I think you'd like it. I hope you'll check it out.
March 5th, 2008 @ 5:30 pm
Sorry that URL didn't paste correctly:

My apologies.
November 28th, 2010 @ 4:22 pm
I remember seeing this trailer and being so full of hope...

"Damn, I thought that was closer."

I didn't hate the film, as many people seemed to, but it definitely doesn't reach Raiders or Crusade levels of greatness.
