Twitch Progress

You are seeing an actual screen shot of the new Video Copilot plugin Twitch. This little idea has come a long way and is really starting to sizzle. Initially an FFX preset for After Effect only, the concept is now a real Plug-In!

What this means is that you will be able to use Twitch with almost any FXplug application such as: After Effects (+mac Universal), Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Motion, and several others too.

Of course, I couldn’t do all of this myself and so I have partnered with a very talented developer that is helping bring this project to life. He also offers capabilities that weren’t available in the FFX preset format, which means the feature list has improved and the speed and power is incredible.

We are working very hard on this project and hope to see it available soon. With all the new features and benefits of the Plug-in architecture, I hope you guys understand a small price increase from what was originally planned. With the new Plug-in developer and necessary testing for outside software hosts like Final Cut and Premiere; it’s no longer just a ‘weekend project’. I can assure you that it will be under $49 and I’m trying my hardest to keep it as low as possible.

After realizing the possibilities of multi-software Plug-in and new features just not possible as a preset, I knew that creating an actual plug-in was the only way to make this product longer lasting and more valuable to everyone.

I can’t wait to start using it more and showing off all the new stuff. More info coming soon.

UPDATE: Here is a screen shot of the Effects Panel:

Wow this is awesome news! I hope it's ready soon, I have a project that could really use it. Thanks for keeping it affordable, most plug ins cost hundreds of dollars. Just don't get any ideas :)

You have an ambitious soul Andrew, don't ever lose that.
September 29th, 2007 @ 2:03 am
Wow, well done!

Can't wait

Looks great something like that will come in real handy.
"Under $49"? seems a bit exact.

Anyway looks like a great plugin with a great price, thanks!

September 29th, 2007 @ 2:17 am
I'd also like to add that it's funny how I have only been checking your site a few times a day, but for the past few entries of the blog I've ended up checking it normally less than ten minutes after you've just posted a new one.
It's also strange how my name changed from Salmon Sandwich to Salmon Casserole continuously and I don't realise until I posted...

Anyway to repeat (for the third time?) , Twitch looks like a great project.
September 29th, 2007 @ 2:19 am
looks great.. congrats!

Nice stuff! Compatibility is the key! Well, hopefully, if I go to the US to study at college, I'll totally buy it. My fingers are crossed! :P
September 29th, 2007 @ 8:39 am
You hope we don't mind the price increase? Hahaha. Compared to other products, your products are extremely cheap (price-wise, definitely not in quality). $50? I mean, c'mon. Similar stuff from other people is like 100x more expensive. The quality and knowledge you offer for such a small price is insane....

Hmm... maybe I should shut up before I convince you to charge more... :-X
September 29th, 2007 @ 9:19 am
Outstanding!! The price is awesome too!!
September 29th, 2007 @ 9:19 am

ETA? October? pray tell................
September 29th, 2007 @ 10:23 am
Oh, and because it is a Plug-in, it will work with any language of After Effects. All of the code is happening in the Plug.
September 29th, 2007 @ 10:38 am
Well I know I'm "Twitching" over "TWITCH" :)
Can't wait to use it.

that is really exciting... I'm happy for you!

I can't wait to play with the plugin.. I need so more products to buy from you! I've been talking to one of my professors... She has the entire Digital juice collection... (she doesn't even use any of it) and when I showed her your site she was excited about more video stuff she could buy...

anywhoo... why is there little arrows next to the drop-down arrows?
September 29th, 2007 @ 11:09 am
congratulations !
September 29th, 2007 @ 12:22 pm
Wow, I have been waiting for you to upgrade to a FFX plugin. This is very nice, nice job.

September 29th, 2007 @ 12:23 pm
Andrew, be assured that some of us understand the small increase in price as I'm sure it will be a lot more useful than some expensive plug-ins out there.
September 29th, 2007 @ 12:26 pm
Hi again AK ^^

I recently saw Man on Fire (yeah, I'm a little bit late, I know :P ) and I was wondering how could I reproduce the same type of effect, with speed and ease. Seems like you thought about this before me :D

Anyway, can't wait for the finished product... It offers many possibilities. Another genius thing. :)

Oh, and we all hope it's "just" a beginning for VideoCopilots cool plug-ins ^^
September 29th, 2007 @ 2:59 pm
FXplug ? So that means it's going to use GPU acceleration ? That would be sick.
September 29th, 2007 @ 3:25 pm
This look really exciting. Can't wait to give it a go. Any need for Beta Testers ; )
September 29th, 2007 @ 6:50 pm
Will the plug in work for AE 6.5 pro?
September 29th, 2007 @ 8:30 pm

Looks like a great product and I think the ability to "twitch" other effects parameters is going to huge! I can't wait to play around with twitching expressions, etc...

AK - Don't sell yourself short! $49 is a great value and at the risk of being unpopular, you should charge more. Everyone should know how much good will and help you already give to the After Effects community, I thank you, but don't do it for free!
