Nice tutorial also!, though the technique by importing from PScs3 was faster, I believe this way is more efficient, while you save time by not working the shadow maps and everything else, you still spend time repositioning and perfecting the imported files.

Nevertheless, excellent tutorials!, keep them coming!
June 27th, 2007 @ 12:13 am
wow i need to get me some of those programs... i knew cs3 was comin out i didnt know when.. wow i can think of a lot of stuff this can be applied to. thanks andrew!~

June 27th, 2007 @ 12:15 am
second commet! nice. Thats very usefull for green screening. You could make someone run down the alley and maybe fall and rotate on to them. lots of possibilities.

June 27th, 2007 @ 2:37 am
Awesome technique and an awesome tutorial!

June 27th, 2007 @ 2:40 am

Very good tuts... and Andrew.... Superpowers?... what that means... you become the... Beeman?... or buzzman?... even so, better think really hard about your custom, because... a yellow-black striped costum?... don´t listen to me. But really good job.
June 27th, 2007 @ 5:04 am
BEEMAN to the rescue! :D

Cool tutorial. Definitely easier than cutting up the image itself and creating a 3D room...
June 27th, 2007 @ 5:04 am

June 27th, 2007 @ 5:12 am

Is it possible to download the tutorials the "free" ones like the files on the dvds you sell. Ive got 4 of your dvds and they are a great way of learning instead of just reading (like after effects essentials, they are really boring compared to your way of delivering information).
The tutorials on the dvd`s work so much better for me.
Keep up the stellar work.
June 27th, 2007 @ 6:15 am
Oh thats a gr8 stuff, thanx andrew!!!!

Warm Regards
June 27th, 2007 @ 6:21 am
WOW! Great tutorials (esp. "3D Projection 1&2")!!!!

Anyway, does anyone know a free software like Andrew uses to record his imagery from the desktop?
Some guys on youtube are asking me about some of my techniques, and I don't want to explain them everything in text... :)
mark (RIOT GEAR 2?)
June 27th, 2007 @ 6:30 am
Buzz, buzz, buzz... I mean great demonstration Andrew! :)
I think this tutorial showed a lot more than the first, at least the capabilities of using this trick. I can see effect used with 3D photo montages.

June 27th, 2007 @ 6:31 am
Man, that totally rocks. Now just imagine tracking a greenscreen scene, parenting the camera to the tracking and putting one of these as the background! :D Each tutorial opens up just SO MANY possibilities. You rock, man, you totally rock.

BTW, gosh, we venezuelans need to get those soda fridge packs... Does the next soda REALLY come after the previous one? :P
June 27th, 2007 @ 6:31 am
sorry about the Riot Gear 2 next to my name. auto text kicked in as i was keyeing. :)
June 27th, 2007 @ 6:41 am

June 27th, 2007 @ 7:32 am
Andrew, you rock. Thx for the tutorials. Keep 'em coming. I'm constantly surfing the net for After Effects resources to learn new techniques and workflows and I have to say that this one is the best. I check your website everyday and will be purchasing the Lucky 7. Any chances of a lucky 8 coming out soon?

Hey there! :)

I've been looking for some good tutorials about AE, and I'm really happy that I managed to find your site! The tutorials are superb, clear, easy to follow and cover a lot of interesting aspects.

It's a real pleasure to watch them, even your voice seems nice and you're not 'err', 'umm' and so on a lot. ;)

Anyway (yeah, I hope too much positive comments won't make you lazy with the next tutorials ;-) ) I'm looking forward to any new tutorial of yours and learning some from all the proevious.

Keep up the great work!
Not Afraid!
June 27th, 2007 @ 10:11 am
This is great. I was just trying to figure out how to do a town fly through with only stills, and while I was able to create the illusion (using a lot of radial blur) this will look so much more convincing. Thanks!

How does it look if you do the Hitchcock Vertigo shot? Truck the camera out and zoom in the lens at the same time. This hallway is the perfect shot to test that on. Great tutorial!

Sooo many tutorials in so little time! Slow down man! :D

thank you, great stuff as always
June 27th, 2007 @ 1:33 pm
Hi Guys, The Grand Master A.E, has open our world to another level, thanks Kramer, you are the MEN!

One question, in cases where you may want to animate the light, like a soft wigglying, how can you do that, i tried adding another light, its makes no different, i will light to play with some scary lighting on the corridor, i do like that kind of scene,

and am thinking how some humans can be added to such scene, what i tried out was a keyed out actor, i actually used my wife for the test not quite 1 hour again, i keyed out, turn the 3D on, and place afar from the Z axis, and apply soft shadows to blend with the scene, the illusion was, the actor wasn't moving, i tried getting closer to the actor but the walls were blurry out...

well thats my few tricks, dont mind me, i gain them from Video-copilot. its alll good

June 27th, 2007 @ 1:43 pm
Do not slow down ...
Thank you!
Would be greate if you could create new dvd with all tutorials from your website "Andrew Archive's"

Alright there bee man, being that you now have these amazing powers, I am requesting a tutorial on creating bees coming out of someones mouth like the in the movie "The Mummy" .

I wanted that effect last summer on a shoot and bought a few hundred thousand bees from this bee farm out in Pensilvania, but the actor refused to put them in his mouth... we fired him.
June 27th, 2007 @ 11:03 pm

Hey Andrew, very impressive tutorial.
Is the same way in which you can make a face seem 3d from a 2d image?

See the video clip on the front, its got lots of after effects stuff, but at 2.00mins in it shows a bunch of peoples faces in 3d projection, is this done in a similar way?

^^ the video is on there, its also on blip.tv or something
